Praise him, worship him, beg him for anything good you might have in your life or you will suffer....you poor unfortunate soul. Maybe I misunderstand the faith, but it seems like he is constantly testing the devotion of his followers, like a needy, insecure partner.

Does seem like he was able to create the universe, our planet, life, and everything. You'd think he could manage to create some independent self-esteem.

Looks like some of his worshippers could use some as well.

You misunderstood the faith.

You thank Him for what you have. Can you see? hear? Walk? Talk? Feel? See? Smell? Read? Do you have a brain? He gave it all to you.
You are way off base.
You'll get it one day when you grow up.

God already gives you good things. He doesn't make you suffer. he does not constantly test the devotion of His followers.
He does not demand worship or praise. We offer it because we love Him and are appreciative.

Prove it, if you think it is so. I want statistics, a spreadsheet of all the many people that He has tested.

YOU make yourself suffer with your whining.

Be thankful for what you have.

he's extra of a bean counter. The entity that Anglophone Christians consult with as "God" evolves lots over the direction of the old testomony, or the Jewish Bible. in case you like to appreciate God, I advise commencing with the Gospels in accordance to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Get the NIV Bible, and study the footnotes. The footnotes help in making a super sort of expertise of what they're conversing approximately. i hit upon the OT to be slightly Bean Counterish ... and it is sort of a itemizing of policies, for a tribe of folk living interior the desolate tract in Israel like hundreds of years in the past. the hot testomony is the hot Covenant, it is a extra moderen and as much as date version of God's word. And sure i'm Christian. I advise no offense to Jews, or Muslims. I know the traditions of others, and that i will combat for freedom of judgment of right and incorrect and perception. yet i'm answering this question to my own ... constrained, albeit biased capacity. you're unfastened to respond to on your guy or woman way. that's how I got here to appreciate God. all of us has a various direction.

It actually seems worse than that ;it seems that he is in fact a big child.
Case in point.
The Titanic survivors are floating around on a very cold , very big ocean and they are praying. To my atheist brain it would appear that they are praying to God [ proper nouns always get capitalized] not to have the same temper tantrum that put them in the water in the first place. In effect they are asking a very large and powerful child to behave himself.

Good observation: The image that a god takes on is the mirror image of those that believe in its existence.

God and Satan played games with JOB in the bible if you need proof. God allowed Satan to take everything from him just to win a stupid bet that JOB loved God more....Do you need more proof? What more do you need to show you that GOD is nothing more than a big kid with a frickin microscope waiting to burn you up if you don't play his game???

GOD is the ALPHA the beginning HE made everything and i mean everything. HE made us in HIS image so that we might worship HIM in all that we do. i do not see GOD as needy or insecure. I see HIM as all powerful ,all loving and all forgiving. GOD made this earth for us so that we could share in the bounties that HE made and enjoy them. HE took delight in watching us enjoy them. all HE asked was that we follow one request and we failed HIM in that and so had to take our punishment for it. like any parent it saddend HIM to have to do this but it was necessary for us to learn. hut HE still loved us and cared for us. He has since the beginning of time and will until the end of eternity.

If we don't place Him as Lord why should we want do anything considered good?
If He's not Lord of my life then it's just me in charge and if it's just me then I can behave any way I want and screw the rest of you. Survival of the fittest will be the rule and there's no whining only dying if you can't take me out first.
Fortunately for the world He is my Lord and I am accountable to Him and desire to please and glorify Him with my life.

I agree. Its sometimes referred to as "little dick syndrome" He is not happy with the size of his penis so he over compensates with his attitude. Or he is really short and got picked on when he was a kid.
