I have to ask this question again, because I never got that many answers........one fool said you can not pray this and go your own way...like he judges me......I have no life, but to pray for perfection in in Gods eyes. I just look at God....well did that for 3-4 yrs...its only been the last 2 yrs I only do it for 4 hrs aday.......God for some reason can not defeat sin, I know my life, I know my mind and I see sin...fight with everyone on it...but my natural soul is evil and I have no choice to sin. God can not defeat sin, all he can do is kill his son for us...that is why so far I am standing against God and calling him week, saying I am hear to defeat sin and gave my life to do so....but God is not there, he just keeps weeping making me feel he loves me and keep asking for perfection. Maybe this is what God wanted everyone to do?to seek for perfection to get into heaven, in stead of him wanting to put his son on a cross for us, to save us....

What are you going to do when the world ends and you have the chance to go to heaven? Are you going to ask forgiveness from your sins? Or what? Dont bash/flame me, im just wondering.

And dont be like "that will never happen" blah, I just want to know what you will do IF that happens.

A creep keeps calling me @ work...?
I am a receptionist. I keep getting this creepy phone call from this guy saying his name is Scott and asks do I remember him, he was in the office the other day. I say how may I help you? Then he says "you don't remember me, its Scott" and never gives a last name. And he talks in a creepy psyco voice. MOST Creepy my husband's name is Scott. I work with several other women, answering the same phone but this Scot person never talks to them. Sould I be concerned. And no its not my husband I know his voice and he doesn't beleive in prank calls. My office doesn't have caller id but I guess we should get it.

I have been out for a while, but I KNEW it was not my imagination that when I was in, information we received from the Watchtower Society was considered "precious food from the faithful and discreet slave."

Lately I have been shocked to see answers from JWs which describe the WBTS as a "mere legal instrument" used by JWs, and even some answers that can be considered a denunciation. This was unheard of in the past!

Wikipedia says, ""Watchtower Society" has also been used synonymously with the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses, even in their own literature, such as in the book Worldwide Security Under the Prince of Peace (1986) OCLC 15485620. More recently, Jehovah's Witnesses want to be more clear about making a difference between the Watchtower Society and the organization."

So when did the change occur, and do you think the need to distance themselves from WBTS was more in response to the sexual abuse allegations, or the UN scandal?

It occurs to me that no where in the bible does it say what Satan looks like.

The idea of a being with horns does not appear to be biblical.

Might this have been an effort to smear the Horned God?

Tell me what you think about this crap. This is a man who lives in a town close to where I live. He claims that God delivered new revelations to him via an electronic chair--"God's Comfort Chair" as he calls it. He handed out 7 copies of the booklet he called "God's New Revelations." He said it came to him on 7/7/07 at 7:07 a.m. He says he was ordered to deliver this message. He claims Genesis was written by the Devil. This booklet steers people away from the Holy Bible, saying that it is no longer relevant. He says organized religion corrupted Jesus' story. He says women have recieved unfair treatment because of Genesis. He also delivered what he called "new proverbs", 27 in all.
I think this is bull. What do you think?

I am a receptionist so I deal with people all day. I answer the phone and this guy by the name of Scott says "Hi this is Scot I was in there the other day and met you, do you remember me?" then just repeats himself. Its happened a few times in the last two months. There are other women in the office but this guy never does this to them. Okay this is the really strange part. My husband's name is Scott. Is this a coinicdence or has he looked me up on line and is trying to scare me? What should I do? Should I be concerned?

Reading up on this section of Y!A I find posts about 'being a god for a day', 'being immortal', etc.
Is anyone actually seriously considering this option here & why? What does it mean to such a person to reach the state of God?

What would be your responsibility as a God? Really curious.

Any ideas.... post.

if god had found more peaceful ways of punishishing sinners in the bible, and less extreme ways of testing his believers, i.e. asking abraham to kill his son, do you think we'd have as many whackos today thinking it's ok to kill in the name of the lord? they obviously got the idea that it was ok from somewhere.

Hello, all:

My mother died on June 3rd after several months of battling lung cancer. Her death was exactly what she had hoped for -- peaceful and pain-free -- and for almost a month afterwards I was blessedly numb, but now the emotional anesthetic has worn off and I am full of a sorrow that is leaching away all my energy and lies in my bones and my flesh like leaded sand.

Do you have any words of encouragement you could share with me? Religious passages, prayers, poems, funny links to offer distraction... anything would be appreciated. I have to work on a computer project this evening and will be checking periodically for answers.

If it matters, I am Wiccan and so was my mother, but I'm open to words of hope from other faiths.

Thank you in advance to everyone who responds.

If Joseph Smith, who mormons believe was a prophet of god hadn't have invented the polygamy revelation, noone would have practiced polygamy in the first place, and there wouldn't have been a break off of mormonism that believed in their prophet's revelation enough to continue practicing it even though it was illegal.

The FLDS has EVERYTHING to do with mormonism. The main difference is that the followers of the mormon church didn't have the balls to follow the prophet's revelation, and instead stopped practicing polygamy in order for Utah to become a state.

And no, I'm not defending the fundamentalists. I think they're both a train wreck waiting to happen.
