I'm not sure how the whole "Cali" thing got started but I've never cared for it. As for as the whole Hollister or Abercrombie thing goes - not my deal. From what I've noticed, it seems that people outside the state of CA are usually more into the whole "Cali" thing than any of us. Also keep in mind that CA is a large state and what goes on in one part doesn't necessarily make sense in another part. I'm from the LA area.
Peggy Pirate is right. I could easily sell my 1,100 square foot condo for well over 400k in today's market and live pretty splendidly somewhere else. The problem is that I wouldn't have the amazing weather that I have and wouldn't give it up for anything. Did you know that I could actually go skiing and surfing on the same day during some parts of the year? Nope, wouldn't give it up.

Why do people who wear Abercrombie think they're all that? Why would you go out of your way to not wear something just cuz it's made in California? I don't like A&F clothes, but frankly, I don't really care if you wear their stuff. If you like it, go for it. I wear what I like, which varies widely from one day to the next. And I live in Ohio and hate it here. It's racist, cold, and boring. I'm moving to "Cali" in two years after I get my BA, and I guess I say Cali for the same reason you didn't write out Abercrombie and Fitch.
Why you gotta judge people cuz of what they wear or where they live? It's as bad as judging them for their race, religion, or anything else.
BTW, WalMart, Kohls, Penney's, and Sears all sell clothing manufactured in California. I'm sure a lot of other places do also. Since you are all A&F, you probably don't do Hot Topic, but their corporate office is in Cali., as is Van's, Wet Seal, and........ hey do you eat tacos? Taco Bell is California based.

I'm here IN cali. I've been to hollister and i can't for the life of me figure out what there is to be proud of there. It's a lil sh!t hole just down the road from casa de fruta. For the longest i wondered if the shirt meant there or it was just some other brand name. Personally I will NOT advertise on my body for FREE. If I have a shirt with a logo on it, i'm getting paid. I wear what fits, for it's occasion. I could honestly care less who made it or even WHERE.
Maybe it's a grown up thing.
Seriously, stop generalizing. California is the most populace state in this country, and i'm absolutely sure I've never met you.

I would'nt wear Hollister or Abercrombie or any of that preppy bullsh!t if you paid me. I think California is all that because I've been to other states and it is not all that, except for Hawaii' da bomb and the Pacific Northwest is the **** too. I can't live more then 15 minutes away from the ocean, never have never will.

this is the funniest question I have ever seen. It's obviously based off a bad encounter or two. I'm sorry, but just because you've met a few dumb@$$'s from said "Cali" doesn't mean we think we are all that. I sure don't and there are whoards of people just like me who aren't conceited and totally into themselves... and who don't wear Hollister or Abercrombie or American Eagle or any of that wannabe mainstream crap.

If my only experience with California was a multi-million dollar clothing corporation made by the hands of poor children in sweatshops and used a "California surfer stereotype" to make money, I'd hate California too. But maybe you shouldn't hate a stereotype and instead meet some people from California.

Because they can move to other parts of the United States after selling their small house worth 699,999 dollars and use that money to build a house in the Midwest with a tennis court, swimming pool, bowling alley, a pretty big mansion and look like they are really rich but in California they would just be middle class.

No, it's NY...Man, if you're around a New Yorker and you say you're going to "the city", even if you're hundreds of miles away from it, they're like, "Oh? New York City?" and assume it's the only city that exists!!
