if god had found more peaceful ways of punishishing sinners in the bible, and less extreme ways of testing his believers, i.e. asking abraham to kill his son, do you think we'd have as many whackos today thinking it's ok to kill in the name of the lord? they obviously got the idea that it was ok from somewhere.

I would not blame God for our wrong doings. God has told us how He operates. He never meant to have Abraham's son killed. That event was foreshadowing the crucifixion. God has provided the perfect sacrifice to us.

Free will is great in that means too that if you do not want to be saved by Him, you do not have to.

Yes, they got the idea from somewhere, but not necessarily from the bible. But yeah, in the future if there was an extreme Christian person, it would be VERY interesting, the whole sacrifice thing.

You are still thinking in the corporeal. God can punish the body AND the soul. He may take only the life from the earth and save the soul for His glory later. Beware the one who after death also has the power to destroy the soul.

No one kills in the name of God. People kill others because of their own selfishness and disrespect for anothers beliefs. Just because someone is religious doesnt mean they are killing in the name of God.

Wow, yet another good pint that will go unsatisfied because they can never give straight answers to such proof of deeper thinking which further proves the lie.

I believe the finger should be pointed at Satan perhaps who loves to pervert and twist things. Not God. By the way isn't it God who's on trial anyways? Isn't it Satan that accuses Him of not being just?
