CNN: "A 16-page document, prepared by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which Pope Benedict used to head, described Christian Orthodox churches as true churches, but suffering from a "wound" since they do not recognize the primacy of the Pope." Truly incredible dog

This fundamentalist Christian couple felt it important to own an equally fundamentally Christian pet. So, they went shopping. At a kennel specializing in this particular breed, they found a dog they liked quite a lot. When they asked the dog to fetch the Bible, he did it in a flash. When they instructed him to look up Psalm 23, he complied equally fast, using his paws with dexterity.

They were impressed, purchased the animal, and went home (piously, of course). That night they had friends over. They were so proud of their new fundamentalist dog and his major skills, they called the dog and showed off a little. The friends were impressed, and asked whether the dog was able to do any of the usual dog tricks, as well. This stopped the couple cold, as they hadn't thought about 'normal' tricks.

"Well," they said, "let's try this out."

Once more they called out to the dog, and then clearly pronounced the command, "Heel!"

I'm I gonna look like Taye Diggs? If all you women are gonna look like Beyonce or Scarlett Johansen in Heaven, I might have to rethink this Christianity deal.

That, and I want to see the little angel fetused play soccer.

Beliving in god in the past few decades.

I mean seriously, in the 50's people would have shunned you out of town.

What made everyone suddenly come to their senses?

Why did you all stop, or did you ever believe?

I asked a question before as to why countries who's people chose atheism, like Norway and Sweden, are sp peaceful.

One response I got was "Satan Has Them Fooled For Now! Someday, It Is all gonna HIT the Fan, and the Truth Comes Out. Oh Boy, There is a lot of People gonna be in for a Rude Awakening, For sure. "

This response seems typical of the thoughts expressed by christians in their answers to the question.

If Satan has these guys fooled, why is he going to such extremes of displaying how good civilisation really CAN be, when countries that follow "the word of God" seem to look more like chaos, reigned over by intolerance and fear?

Science shows the exestence of God though.. as in Science we cant belive in Miracles so we can't say that allll this universe is been from nothing without any support, or that this life is, just because atoms were reacting in a strange way within millions of year... this would be a Miracle too doesnt it??

Seriously, in Los Angeles, you can count on EACH BLOCK the number liquor stores, motels and corner churches. Is this to cover the effect of poverty; or is it to BUY LIQUOR, SIN IN MOTELS AND THEN PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS??...just to have the cycle repeated over-and-over again?

p.s. I know that after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, they limited the number of liquor stores there could be in certain areas.

Why is it that, when numerous embryos are created in a fertility clinic - and then indefinitely frozen, most likely never to be used - they're still just embryos, but when a woman has an abortion, an embryo is referred to as a baby?

For those who insist atheists have no morals, why are Sweden & Norway so peaceful and why do they have such low crime rates?

In both countries, non believers vastly outnumber believers, yet they are among the healthiest, richest and most peaceful people on Earth.

Yet the USA, with it's huge number of fundamentalist christians, has such a high crime rate and a bit of a tendency to march off into wars for questionable reasons (Vietnam & Iraq are the first of many that spring to mind)

Deeply religious Islamic countries don't seem exactly peaceful either as a general rule. Pakistan, for example, dosn't look like the safest place to live right now, and has fought India for years over border issues.

Why does it seem that populations who's citizens CHOSE atheism (as opposed to those who have it thrust on them) are far more peaceful those who's citizens chose theism?

Okay...
I know this is sort of wierd... But I just saw the first episode of the latest season of Family Guy.
There was a scene where Jesus Christ came and was really short saying some thing like how everyone was much shorter 2,000 years ago...
So how tall was Jesus?

The Bible states that Jesus carried a sword (Matthew 10:34) but never specifies what kind of sword. I think Jesus would have carried a Claymore. I know that a claymore is not appropriate to the time period but he was Jesus. Plus I think the claymore would have been useful in situations such as the money changers (nothing says watchout and pay attention like Hippie-Looking Dude smashing furniature to bits with big sword while screaming and yelling).

What kind of sword do you think Jesus carried around?
