The catholic church has given it self the powers and authority to change the laws of God and re write the ten commandments....In the Book of revelations is a curse on any one who alters the word of God.....

Yes, Peter went to Rome.....but it was the Roman authorities who were tired of dealing with the"christian problem" who installed a "roman religious/governor" who combined the pagan with the early christian and that was the catholic church and the pope.

The true answer to this lies in the fact that Protestants for the most part have no clue what Catholic doctrine or beliefs are. I have sat in protestant churches and heard the criticism of Catholics from the pulpit and it is always based on ignorance. i never heard Catholics criticize other religions or denominations. Protestant churches are all "man-made". They were all created by men, who had disputes with the Catholic church or spawned from an earlier protestant church, but the bottom line is they are all based on man and not the true intention of Jesus. Jesus asked Peter to be the rock upon which his church would be built and that church is the Roman Catholic Church. The protestants are all bearing false witness in one way or another according to true Christian history. They are also mainly about money and keeping it coming in, which is why many of them change their beliefs every so often to make sure no one is excluded or offended..i.e. homosexuality.. I was raised Catholic, became protestant and am now happily agnostic. I believe in a higher being, but man has no clue. What i do know from being protestant is that they are not truly devoted to the message taught by Christ. They have their own prophets that they have chosen to follow much like Islam.

There's no evidence that Peter was ever head of the Roman church, occupying any papal throne. If you ever read the history of the papacy, you will discover that there is no apostolic line that goes back to Peter. Throughout history, the papacy has been bought, popes were installed as a result of war. At times there were fractions when two or three different people claimed to be pope, each supported by a different fraction of the church. There have been illegitimate sons who succeeded their fathers as pope. There have been at least three popes who were shot by jealous husbands.

Most of the Roman Doctrines of Faith are in direct contradiction to the Bible.

One of the many titles of the pope is "The Vicar of Christ", which translated means AntiChrist.

It'd be kind of hard to do since Peter was never in Rome, was NOT the "first pope" ( that "honor" was all Constantine's), and lastly, Peter doesn't have a throne in the vatican or any where else on earth, for that matter.
As for what popey-dopey is now saying, who cares? Those dorks have been saying that ever since Luther nailed the 95 Theses on the door at Wittenburg.

Take a huge whiff. Smells like the false-prophet is on the rise.

The primacy of Peter is a gross mistreatment of the text. The language itself of the passage most cited in support of the false doctrine is one of the strongest points denying it...

Matthew 16:18 Here is what I tell you. You are Peter. On this rock I will build my church. The gates of hell will not be strong enough to destroy it.

In the original Greek of this passage, we see that Simon was "renamed" with the Greek word 'petros.' This word means PEBBLE, "rock" IN A SMALL SENSE. The "rock" on which the church was to be built was "petra." This word indicates a boulder or bedrock, i.e. rock IN A LARGE SENSE.

Greek would have allowed him to be named "Petra," in which case you would expect to see a masculine article on the normally feminine form. There is an article in the text which is represented in English translations by "THIS rock" and the article is feminine, denying that the word applies to a man.

No, I do not believe this.

Biblically, Peter told all who tried to worship him as supreme to get off the ground and away from his feet, because he was just a man , like them.

He told them to worship God and God alone and to follow Jesus Christ.

Simple fact right from the bible. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and we are the body of the church. To put the pope at the head of the church is to replace Jesus Christ with the Pope.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, not a man.

I do not accept the premise of your question. To do so would negate any other comment.

Belief in the idea that there is a Throne of Peter is the foundation upon which the Catholic Church claims to be the True Church, which I do not believe.

Yes, Simon the apostle, immediately after receiving from Christ the title "Peter", meaning ""Rock", was given the keys to the kingdom, the universal symbol of supreme authority. The "throne of Peter" of course does not refer to a piece of furniture, but to the position of authority He and his successors were appointed to. Simon Peter and all subsequent Popes do not "replace" Christ, which of course is impossible, but represent Him as His personally appointed vicar.

Constantine was never a Pope. In fact, he never held any official position in the Church. There were more than 25 popes before Constantine was born. In the Bible, Peter sends his greetings from "Babylon", which every competent scripture scholar recognizes as a code word for Rome (not that Peter would have to be in Rome in order to fulfill the ministry of Pope). Peter and Paul were both martyred in Rome.
