This is such an exciting time to be Catholic. I don't think Pope Benedict is not loosening the restrictions so much as he is trying to give Catholics back an identity. You could always find a Latin Mass. It meant going a little out of the way, but it could be done. But now the laity have a voice in how they would like to worship. This also means that Catholics are now forced to having to explain their faith and their reasons for wanting to have a Latin Mass.

Good. I know even though I was born well, WELL after Vatican II, I always prefered the Latin Rite.
It would be nice, however, if the vatican would strike the ultimate balance -- do the Latin Rite, but in the vernacular.

It's ok. Latin helps unite people. It is a good move. It unifies people the way there was unity in the Church before Martin Luther.

Yes, and I wish he had gone further! There are still too many ways a bishop can make it very difficult for the laity to have access to this Mass.

I'm young, so the Latin mass never occurred in my lifetime.
Yeah i support it. But will it be in Latin and trinidine, where the priest has his back toward the group?
I guess I better start learning Latin.

I believe that they proposal was to allow the tridentine mass format to be allowed. Not that more people would be required to attend one.
