A creep keeps calling me @ work...?
I am a receptionist. I keep getting this creepy phone call from this guy saying his name is Scott and asks do I remember him, he was in the office the other day. I say how may I help you? Then he says "you don't remember me, its Scott" and never gives a last name. And he talks in a creepy psyco voice. MOST Creepy my husband's name is Scott. I work with several other women, answering the same phone but this Scot person never talks to them. Sould I be concerned. And no its not my husband I know his voice and he doesn't beleive in prank calls. My office doesn't have caller id but I guess we should get it.

As soon as you can, invest in a whistle (like the ones sports coaches use, a loud one) keep this whistle where you can reach it easily. The next time the creep calls, blow the whistle in the phone as loud and as long as you can. Once his ears stop ringing he should quickly come to the conclusion that it just aint worth it.

Before you buy the whistle, report this problem to your employer. Also, begin keeping a log of when this creep calls/drops in in case you and/or you employer decide to report him to the cops. A log of his calls and visits will enable the police to help you get a restraining/no-contact order more quickly if you should decide you want to do that.

Please do these things as soon as possible because some people are crazy and you never know what they will do. Don't you watch the news?!?

Call the police. Make notes when he calls so they can look up where the call is coming from, but you need the time that he called. It doesn't matter if you have caller id or not. You might even be able to call the phone company and they can tell you where he is calling from. You never know when some nutcase might decide that calling isn't enough anymore and decides to get a little more personal.

This guy may only call a couple of times. But in case.most front offices ,have cameras. If not ,if there is like a jewerly store or bank across the street ,they often have outside cameras.maybe one shows your office front door.Do you remember how he looked.Just to be on the safe side.Ask security,if you can look at the tape.If so you need to get a copy. Write down how many times he has called.Does your job have a sign in sheet, copy it if he signed in.Is there a pay phone in direct site of your desk?Or do you give your name, when you answer the phone. If it's possible,to get phone records,of times you've written.Always, remain buisness like &calm.Let your supervisior know ,that if this person does not need your assistant as a recieptionist, you are going to end the call.Saying "I'm sorry ,I can't help you~Good-bye! You need to let your husband know.

Probably just some guy who has a lot of free time on his hands and a lot of growing up to do. However most times it's nothing to worry about other times your dealing with some complete physcos. I suggest you talk to your boss, let him/her know that this guy has been calling you and it creaps you out. If he is not calling there about business then he shouldnt be calling in the first place.

Play along a little. Tell him you think you remember him but a last name would help. See if he gives you one. If he does, contact the police. It probably wont be high on their to-do list but at the very least you'll be able to tell him (honestly) that you've contacted the police and you don't want him calling you any more.

Either that or simply hang up on him when he calls.

Good luck!

THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.IDIOTS WITH NO LIFE DO THINGS LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME.
THE BEST SOLUTION IS TO TELL HIM THAT THE CALL IS BEING TRACED BY THE POLICE AND HE WILL GET INTO TROUBLE NEXTIME HE CALLS.
I KNOW IN MY PROVENCE HERE IN CANADA,YOU CAN TELL THE POLICE SOMEONE IS MAKING CRANK CALLS WITH A PRIVATE NUMBER AND THEY CAN STILL TRACE THE CALL.THEY FIX IT SO THAT WHEN HE CALLS YOU,THEW CALL WILL BE ROUTED BACK TO THE POLICE...I SEEN IT DONE AND LET ME TELL YOU ..THE PERVERT STOPS CALLING IN A HURRY.
ASK YOUR LOCAL POLICE HOW TO TRAP THIS REAPEAT OFFENDER,YOU NEVER KNOW IT MIGHT BECOME A DANGEROUS ISSUE IN THE FUTURE IF YOU DONT PUT A STOP TO IT.
