My husband and I have a 3 month old. People are already asking when we are going to have another. We are only planning on having one because of age and financial reasons. We really feel it is nobody's business. People flip out and tell me that she needs a sibling. What should I say to them to shut them up and get them off my back?

If you are married, do you think it is rude if someone asks what your spouse does for a living? Or is it just a common question. Sometimes I am curious, but I don't want to ask, b/c in a sense you are measuring their net worth. I don't know. But perhaps you guys could help me out.

LORENZAGO DI CADORE, Italy - Pope Benedict XVI has reasserted the universal primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says Orthodox churches were defective and that other Christian denominations were not true churches.

I WANT to think that I will see them again when I die, like in heaven, but I also can't picture a God that would take away the two people who meant the most to me....and it's hard to picture them sitting on some cloud in the sky.....Believers and non-believers: What do you think?

An atheist holds that there is no God.

An agnostic is someone who holds that it is impossible to know whether there is a God or not.

Most religious beliefs are based on Faith rather than knowledge.

It follows that all religious people must also be agnostic.

Do you agree and if not why not?

Someone along our housing row was obviously getting some double-glazing done, so the contractor decided to see if he could sell some to the neighbours.

I answered the door and could see he was about to try and sell me something, so when he asked if our house was owned or rented, I lied and said we rented. It made him go away quicker and he didn't try to sell me anything, although did ask me to pass a leaflet something to a fictional landlord.

Should I feel bad that I did that?

I work in a doctor's office. There is this one lady who is SO nice, sweet, good worker, caring, etc. The patients all love her, and so do I. She is in her upper 40s or maybe 50, and pretty overweight. I'm 25, and most of my coworkers are about that same age. I'm the only guy, the other 4 are girls, and they are all skinny. Anyway, the one older lady is nothing but nice, and these other girls are nothing but mean. They talk about her behind her back about being fat, make fun of her and stuff like that. I've told them to stop and it's really pi--ing me off. The older lady is having a get-together in about 2 weeks and asked us all to come. The bi--y girls are telling her they're going to come and being all fake to her face, but when she's not there they were saying "oh let's just go so we can see what her house is like, it's probably gross" and stuff like that. I've HAD IT, I'm about to either go off on them, or tell her, or tell the dr. I'm nervous about losing my job, though. Any tips?

England has been a united country for many hundreds of years. Most areas of the country have been independant at some time in their history (i.e the Kingdom of Wessex), so why does a county now wish to turn back the clock hundreds of years, and break up the country of England, purely because they are slightly more Celtic in origin than others?

If you follow that through to it's ultimate conclusion East Anglia should be an independant Anglo Saxon country.

Fanatiscism of any shape or form is undemocratic, and results in the views of the loudest (or most violent) minority taking precedence over the many.

One Side of Pagans saying
"When god flooded the earth, wasn't he taking away people's free will to LIVE?"

not to mention their free will to follow him or not. what about all the little babies and little kids who were killed in the flood? they had never sinned.

i know some of you will say that god was punishing mankind for all the sins of mankind, but you have also said that god doesn't mess with free will, and i'm pretty sure those people would have chosen life with their free will

Other side of atheists saying "If there is a God then why Does he allow so much Bad to happen nowadays"

So NOW you can see the inconsistenty of you thoughts. Now when you look at the world and think deeply, it is because of Human decisions that everything has become quite a mess. What do you say?

A) A just god would judge you by how you lived your life and treated others, not what you believed, felt or thought.

B) An unjust god isn't going to give you any slack either way, so religion really isn't going to help you. We're all screwed anyway.

C) If god(s) are not real then it doesn't matter.

In any scenario, is there a reason NOT to be a free thinking atheist?

This question is for those who KNOW God. Please no condescending answers from either side. I have my reasons! I want to believe so much in God but the perception in my mind is not changing that this is all there is. It should be simple faith like a child to just accept. It's not that I have doubts or questions. I do, but that is normal. That is not what is blocking my faith. It is just the overwhelming feeling of separation from God. How do I restore it? I have been praying, reading, thinking, I've made myself available to receive the knowledge and peace of the Creator but I still have this stubbornness that keeps me from handing myself completely over.
