I have my own religion and more than once, even though I have been firm but kind to them- I do not let them into my house and explain no thank you, please do not come here again I have my own beliefs in my Savior, they still keep coming.I realize they are just doing what their religion tells them to do but they need to stop it now!

(No religious content here, but R&S always has interesting opinions)

In 1985, Bob Geldof spearheaded the largest benefit concert the world had ever seen -- Live Aid. It's role was to raise awareness of and relieve famine in Ethiopia. More than two decades later, some would argue that famine is worse now than it was then.

Two years ago, Live 8 was organized to bring awareness to the poverty issue that faces many countries. In retrospect, it seems little more than a cause du jour, and a good excuse to get Pink Floyd to reunite.

This past weekend, Live Earth was held at venues worldwide in order to bring awareness to the environment. It wasn't even covered by MTV (at least not in the States), and was covered by Bravo, a network many would not associate with music nor social and/or political causes.

In 20 years, will people realize that Live Earth made a difference, or that it was just a pretty good concert? What about Live Earth's predecessor benefit concerts?

In the first testament he comes across as pretty jealous and proud, giving peple various tests to prove their love to him eg: sacrifces. Why does he feel the need to be worshipped? Isn't that a little egotistical? If he was perfect then he wouldn't need to be adored by everyone.

If god is the great creator and created life on earth etc as so many people seem to believe then surely prior to man being placed on the earth god also created dinosaurs ....???

So what religion were these dinosaurs then if we are supposed to live life abiding by the law of god surely the dinosaurs who were here millions of years ago also had to live under gods rule.........

Can anyone give me a serious answer as i have argued with my Muslim freind about this subject for a long time... He says that Allah created everything etc .... But cannot tell me what religion dinosaurs are !!!

My question refers to a response given by a person responding to the "morning prayer" question earlier. I found it quite interesting. Whilst I feel I ought to know the answer, I am trying to figure it out.............can anybody help? I think that it revolves around "thy will be done" but then would prayer effect Gods course of action?

This seems to be the topic of the day... So how do you define "good"? Seems that some people just accept "God is good" as a tautology of sorts, but does the evidence back this up? In the NT god orders genocide, murder, genital mutilation, condones slavery, etc. How do you defend this as "good" without resorting to the circular argument that "God is good?"

I say it to the two people I work with but ignore the rest. I do this not to be a jerk to my other office mates, but because we (me and one of the other people I work with) say bless you to other people when they sneeze and there's no reponse. Also, when we sneez, they say nothing. Are these people rude or am I the rude one?

**Besides the sneezing situation, there is no ill will in my office, AT ALL.

.the universe?
Scientifically and logically, scientists go looking for causes in all things - what causes hot weather? what causes the apple to fall? what causes sickness and disease? what causes heart disease? what causes the seed to germinate and grow into a tree?
In other words, science is all about *causes*.
So, isn't it logical that *someone*, *something*, caused the universe to come into being?
The question isn't about what caused the universe to come into existence ('Big Bang'), the question isn't about whether at this time we know or not know who or what caused the universe to come into being ('we don't know', 'it doesn't matter');

...the question IS - Atheists, approaching it scientifically and logically, there *is* a cause for the existence of the universe, isn't it?

The answer can only be 'yes', isn't it, since everything scientifically and logically pursued by scientists show there is a cause, otherwise all science and logic, which Atheists rely on, fail.
Do you agree?

EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomena.

I tagged along with a group of ghost hunters last month and after about 5 hours of audio recording was able to capture two voices. I consider myself a huge skeptic but after my own proof, I'm dumfounded. Now I feel, like I have an energy following me everywhere..
