When someone in cube range sneezes, I say Bless You when I can. Sometimes I just send them a pop-up message if I am on the phone. But I am not particular -- if I am too busy so be it. I am here to do my job. Likewise if the guy across the room sneezes (you have probably heard it three states away) I don't say it because it would be disruptive to the work environment. If he has a couple of them I will send a message.

I try to say "bless you" whenever I hear someone around the office sneeze -- but I don't bother if someone says it before me (we don't need a chorus of "bless yous."
Also, I sneeze so often (there is a TON of dust trapped in my cube walls, and I'm allergic) that I've told my co-workers that they don't need to say "bless you" to me. It would just be too much work!
Either way, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you say it and there is no response -- it could be that they're too much working to have even really noticed that you said anything at all. And, yeah, some of them could be rude. But you'll find that anywhere.

I am a chronic "blesser". I say "bless you" to anyone in my office who sneezes. I also say it to complete strangers at the movie theater or a resteraunt; even people walking past me on the street... if they are within earshot of me i will say " bless you". I just do it. Not to be nice or anything. That's what I have been doing for a long time now. But I think its completely up to the person. I don't think everyone HAS to say it. But I think it's a nice thing to do, even if most people don't say it to you. To each his own.

I tend to say "bless you" when I hear a sneeze, whether I get them reciprocated or not. I guess it's one of those weird little niceties which has held on in our society, but serves no real useful purpose.
I've found that people are more friendly when you treat them with a bit of respect, so I try to do that when I can.

I hear you on this one. It's just me and my assistant and everytime she sneezes, I say "bless you" and it is ignored because she is rude in general. Once in a while she will say "bless you" when I sneeze if she is feeling generous and I always acknowledge it by saying "thank you."

I never say God Bless You to anyone when they sneeze. I'm not being rude, I just think it's a silly custom. If they say it to me, I do say thank you. I don't say something when they cough, so why should I say something when they sneeze? But that's just a personal quirk. :)

How or why did asserting "God bless you" replace into linked as an expression one says to a distinctive after the different sneezes? i've got got here across some motives indexed under, yet, a approach or the different, i don't think of any of them are very valid: while somebody sneezes his heart stops and asserting "God bless you" skill "i'm happy your heart all started lower back." asserting "God bless you" once you sneeze keeps the devil from flying down your throat. while somebody sneezes, say "God bless you and could the devil omit you." once you sneeze your soul tries to flee and asserting "God bless you" crams it lower back in.

It's a custom we've grown up with. It got to be a joke when when I was in a language lab in college. When you sneezed you would get responses in 5+ languages. There's never anything wrong about being polite - even if they speak a different language - we communicate our care.

The 'bless you' thing is kind of proximity limited . I would say
it as far as my can of Lysol antiseptic germ spray could reach and figure the rest are in a different germ sphere

In this day and age, I just say "salute" because as you know evoking a higher power can be grounds for the HR office.
Who knows what people really are like and what will cause them go ballistic on you.
