Do you think that this will apply to civil partnerships or are we going to be in a seperate boat again?

Does this really surprise you? Tories = male, white, heterosexual, middle class, suits, middleaged and all personified in David bloody Cameron.

We have had this before, it was referred to as the married man's allowance and it was a tax break on your mortgage. This would help so many people but they need to bring it in for anyone who have a joint mortgage not just married couples.
The labour party replaced this with family tax credit, so if you do not have children you lost out, which is not fair as both my husband and I pay full tax and NI contributions, so what they are proposing would be a fair system if they included all home owners.
We can then get rid of family tax credits!

Gvmt gives tax incentives all the time to to people a benefit for doing certain things. Here the gvmt gives tax breaks to people who buy hybrid cars.
That's the beauty of social engineering, the thing that socialism has going for it. If you didn't have the gvmt steering social policy through the tax program, then you would just have a gvmt based on individual liberties and individual responsibility.

Tories are talking a load of tosh, every time Labour is power, Tories offer ideal solutions to the publican problems, it's a ploy so they get elected, it would be taken back as soon as they were in the hot seat.
They also said they're trying to legalise cannabis, is that a responsible move?

well it's going to be per child isn't it? so they'll probably put some b*llocks in that it has to be the offspring of the couple, thereby eliminating all possibility of civil partnership couples with children being able to receive the same benefit as 'normal' couples.
i think the tories should realise that the standard family is no longer mum dad and three children. if they want to get any supporters outside of the standard conservative camp they need to be more progressive and accepting of what our society is really like.
