I love that you pointed this out!
It would appear as though the one with the most power did cause the most sorrow.
Keep in mind though that the bible was written by men who were pretty much afraid of their own shadows. If they couldn't explain it, God MUST be responsible. If they couldn't control it (women and children) God must want them dead.
I think the bible very often speaks more of the will of men than of God. Don't get me wrong -- it's a great read. However, I believe that you need to approach it like you would any other book.
I'm not sure about the character of Satan. I do know that there are many different beliefs as to what his actual role is...pure evil or did God simply grant his desire to rule? There is some thought that Lucifer's role is to watch over the lost souls (guard them) and keep them away from the rest of us. There are many who believe that Lucifer is not so much evil as indiscriminate.
Conversely, there is also some thought that God is responsible for having sent Hitler and causing the holocaust --an effort to teach the world a lesson.
Great question. I like the way you think.

Well he also wiped out all life with the flood. All that survived was Noah and his family and all the animals he brought into his ark. Also there is that bit in the bible where God and the devil have a little bet on whether or not the devil can turn one of God's top humans (Job) against him. Now the devil comes to meet God with a few divine beings as well. God says what have you been doing and the devil says just wandering about the earth. God says, have you met my ardent supporter Job?The devil says he is only your star pupil because you've given him everything. Take that away and watch how quick Job turns on you. OK says God, Go for it but don't harm him physically. SO the devil does. Job loses wealth, family, home, property and in the end goes and sits on a dung hill with open sores and says terrible things about God. Now some argue that he does turn on god and others argue that even though he turns on God yet he still accepts Gods authority over him.
Finally God turns up! He asks a series of questions of Job putting him in his place. He lets Job know just what an insignificant little nothing he is. Then he gives Job wealth, family etc all over again and disappears from the bible never to return. He is like a big bully or a child.

You're really hung up on this 10 people thing, aren't you?
Satan is known as the deceiver. He is also known as the accuser. He's a scam artist.
He is a liar.
He watches to trip people up and scam them. I wouldn't call that being gentle and mild.
You need to read the New Testament and find the passage where Jesus speaks of doing good and helping others on the Sabbath, when the Pharisees chastised someone for working on that day. Jesus took up for the person.
As for the plagues in Egypt, God was attempting to get Pharoah to free the slaves. That was how he did it. You don't advocate slavery, do you?
Prove that God advocated killing disobedient teenagers. Where in the Bible does it say that? Where does it say that women who have sex before marriage should be killed?
NOwhere does The Bible say it.
You might do well to get your facts straight and learn the whole story.

The Bible doesn't say babies were killed but first born. Some believe this is what happened to King Tut. But the Bible warns of the devil 1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Maybe my mind has gone off on holiday without me cause I cannot remember a referance to Satan in that book.
I think the God refered to is whatever is in full swing at the time.
The Great Plague, is ruled by God of the plagues.
The Great Fire of London, is ruled by God of the Fire
That which is greater than myself and i want to aspire to is my God. Money rules then Money is your God. Something that is overpowering until youve got it....Get it?

Satan does come across as mild and gentle compared to the ignorant, offensive anti-Christian jerks of the modern day, because they are the most uneducated, hateful idiots I've ever encountered in my life. I'm just sayin'......

Satan kills more then thousand daily spiritually. Satan deceives many spiritually.
God gave man a choice to believe or not to believe. God will and does destroy the wicked, but not because of one offense. God is patient through out the Bible with humans yet humans constantly fail to follow Him. God is still being patient with you and waiting for you as will.

god and satan mudered no-one. the creeping death you refer to was a punishment on egypt not the people. anyway if satan and god wanted to inflict harm on the world they would do it in a slightly more venomous way, they are gods after all.

If you believe everything the Bible says think again.
You know it's entirely possible that the Bible was written by man for mans own agenda & everything in there isn' t the truth.
Just think about it.
