To me that looked like 18 answers and none for the question being raised. 1 answer said they didn't do it personally so I guess that would make it 18 out of the first 19 (when I wrote this answer).
I'm a Christian so I don't make that claim. I have heard it being made and it does pop up quite often. People need to hate God for some reason and I guess that (like a younger me) they don't realise that their thinking is more twisted than most Christians.

We only referr to those stories to make points about how the bible and christian's views of god are not compatible and make no sense. If you read your own words, you can see for yourself the point we try to make time and time again.
You are speaking under the assumption that "god" is real and the bible is a historical account of things he had done and said. IF he was real and flooded the earth killing babies he DID compromise those people's freewill and commit an act of genocide, on a whim. IF he is real, and assumeing still alive today, people ARE saying he doesn't mess with freewill, and that's why he allows man to run amok and rape children and other such nasty things without doing a damned thing about it. Can you not see the inconsistancy of his purported actions? Can you not see the fallacy in worshiping and loving a creature that would do things like that, regardless of his reasons? Can you not see the fallacy in believeing such a creature even exists? I can.

Free will is just deciding whether or not you believe in God while on Earth. God gave proof, commands and people ignored that so He started over. And then guess what happened? People ignored the proof and His commands again. He sent Jesus. People are really consistent and didn't believe still. God will fix all the wrong in the world once and for all, when the time is right, when His Church is complete and everyone has had the chance to hear about Jesus.
God Bless.

I say that religion is the leading cause of death of all time. It has justified unimaginable human suffering for thousands of years; from the Aztecs opening the chest cavity of a person each day so that the sun would rise, to the slaughter of 3000 by the children of Levi, to the church sponsored complicity in and cover up of countless numbers of child rapes, to the crusades, to Northern Ireland, to Sudan, Bosnia and Somalia, to the terrorist attacks of 9/11, to the Inquisition. I can't equate any peaceful thoughts to such a barbaric, torturous, institution of power, fear, and death. The people that claim the various cults as their own are the most morally bankrupt people ever conceived. They have no humanity.

I think you should sort out your own thoughts a bit, but anyway.
I am an atheist, I think there is no god, I think that many bad things in the world are man-made but others are sheer bad luck, and there is no such thing as "sin". And of course, the flood story is just that, a story. There have been many local floods in history and therefore this myth is widespread.
This is quite a consistent way of thinking, don't you agree?

"So NOW you can see the inconsistenty of you thoughts. Now when you look at the world and think deeply, it is because of Human decisions that everything has become quite a mess"
so now all natural disasters are the fault of humans?
And when world war 2 raged god just thought, meh, let them kill the jews?
When you have kids, do you let them run unchecked no matter what?

People - some believing in God and some not - have gotten this world into the present mess. God stayed out of it.

Like a few people here I don't follow the Christian God, so I wouldn't say anything about him.
Yes,religion is the main cause of wars because people will defend with their lives what they beleive in, no matter how stupid it may sound to others. I don't need your belief in my deities or religion to validate it, which is why many of us are called solitaries! So please don't put words in my mouth.

You're wrong. There is no inconsistencies in my thoughts. I am, I have been, and I always will be a strong believer in the forces of nature. It's all right here on this earth. All of this " God this and god that " is stupid superstition only. We, like all the other living things here on earth are born, grow up, reproduce, and die. The end - - there is no more. Face it.

Trying to find logic in the Christian concept of God is like trying to find water in a puddle of water. One is not supposed to question the Christian's concept of God and if inconsistencies are found one is told that the ways of God are mysterious.
It's all BS. I have better things to spend my mental energy on.
