I believe Nazareth means despised, but when I went to look it up in Strongs, I was directed to Israel. To make sure I wasn't going stark raving I looked up Israel and confirmed that Hebrew listing 3478 was indeed the correct reference for Israel, not Nazareth.
Help!

I wouldn't know how to find out! My daughter is going to college, and were filling out forms for aid! If I put she is part Indian how would I prove it! I was told Mormans keep track of all that? I am either 1/8 or 1/16, which makes my daughter 1/16 or 1/32! That's not much, but I thought I would just ask the question, since I have always wondered about it?

Ok, what is your take on cloning? I mean some think it's morally wrong. However, I think the link below does provide a very positive reason why we should do it. What do you think?

Do you know that they are now going to start putting these in all babys. While the NAIS remains voluntary on a federal level, and there is no formal people identification system as yet, both executives are moving aggressively to position their companies for the day when chips in animals and people are the norm rather than the exception.

Did you know...in Sweden, Prime Minister Olof Palme gave permission in 1973 to implant prisoners, and Data Inspection's ex-Director General Jan Freese revealed that nursing-home patients were implanted in the mid-1980s.

The National Animal Identification System (NAIS) is set up to put RFID tags in all livestock. This means total surveillance of all livestock. It is mandatory by January 2008. This means if you have one chicken, one horse, one cow, one sheep, one goat, one bison, one sheep, one goat, one llama, one alpaca, one turkey, or one duck, etc - you must register, the premises and the animals.

Are you aware? How do you feel about it?

Jesus loves that person more than we even thought about and he especially does not want to see that person's destruction so how would our prayers mean anything?

I will post a question in religion & spirituality, and I get answers (mostly from atheists) telling me Jesus never existed, and telling me I'm wrong. So they have their right to say what they think, but I don't? Wow, I don't mean all atheists but most of the time it is them.

God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.

not sure I like this blocking thing when we can't answer a question that is perhaps being rude about us or calling us out

what's your thoughts on this blocking thing guys ?

A girl is raped and her rapist is put in prison. While locked up he has plenty of time to think about what he's done. He finds Jesus and asks for forgivness, he's forgiven and knowing this can continue on with his life happily. What about the victim, Jesus doesn't do anything for her. And claiming she is a born again virgin doesn't erase the memories. For those with faith in God who believe in being forgiven for all your sins by Jesus, how do you see this as fair? If it was you or your loved one who was the victim would you still believe that Jesus should forgive him?

I'm talking about Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Rational Response Squad, etc. It's not that I disagree with what these people have to say, it's that I'm sick of people quoting them (Dawkins especially) as if they were the authorities on what all atheists believe.
Maybe it's just me but I can't stand the Cult of Personality that seems to be developing.
Again, I don't really have anything against these people, just the 'appeal to authority' logical fallacies that I see get on my damn nerves.

There has always been a strong healthy rivalry between the English and the French......and at times this can get quite heated/nasty on both sides of the English Channel (notice its ours)

But tell me America....what do you think of the French?

(ps...we don't mind them really)

That's the title of a speech Frederick Douglass gave in 1852, it's brilliant, everyone should read it.

With that being said, am I not entitled to feel the same way he did? No I cannot possibly claim to have experienced even half of the gross injustice and cruelty that the American slave faced, but in a country where I do not feel free, or even welcomed, do I have reason to feel much patriotism?

As Douglass said in his speech "Opression makes a wise man mad." And today of all days highlights the hypocrisy that is America. For some of us, the celebration of this day is a mere "sham."

So should I just shut up, go to a BBQ, and be happy that I don't live in the Middle East...or should I be a Bah Humbug?

The word of wisdom clearly states that they should eat meat sparingly. I wouldn't think a meat lover's pizza would be classified as using meat sparingly.

Not the word "rapture", but the idea of it. (All the Christians being sent up to Heaven at once during the "End Times".) If it isn't, then why would you believe in it, if it's not a biblical concept?

When you clicked on this you probably thought it was a joke. I am serious. During my work day i spend all my time here. When i go home I read volume after volume of religious texts, commentaries, articles, interpretations. I can't stop looking for something greater. A unifying philosophy. I am currently atheist and before a bunch of you come on here and say "your searching for god! Believe in him and be saved!" know that i study Christianity and I am firm in my belief that whatever it is i am looking for is nowhere near christianity or the bible. Why can't i stop looking for spirituality? I don't really eat, I sleep little and everything that interrupts my search, things like work, friends, family seems secondary. Has anybody else had this problem? Has anybody found the answer?
