Maybe some American's are not happy that we are an independent country and wish that we were still British property.

WE CAN'T GENERALIZE AND WISH THE ENTIRE NATION HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!

I'm saying many Americans are immigrants and don't care much about here because this is not their country! And their children tend to be more patriotic to where their family came from (think hispanic children in East Los Angeles).

Many people find the 4th of July OFFENSIVE!! Please realize this.

WHO CARES IF SOMEONE IS OFFENDED BY IT?
If so, they should go back to where they came from. I for one am sick of people who take political correctness to extreme because they are afraid of offending immigrants!

Get over it. I'm sure there are some Holidays you celebrate that others don't, and they don't go whining about it.

EDIT: If people immigrate to this country, they need to EMBRACE it. When you move somewhere new, you can't just pick and choose what you like and make the rest go away. It's better to learn to deal then to be a whiny little baby. If someone doesn't want to celebrate the AMERICAN independence day, maybe they should seek a new life elsewhere.

People who find the fourth offensive should move away. If I hated my wife, I would stand around complaining, I woudl move out. You don't have to embrace all America stands for to appreciate the fourth. It's that independence that allows us to disagree and not be imprisoned or have our hands cut off like those in the oppressed countries.

So if you believe everyone in America should have the FREEDOM to live and believe as they wish, you should have a Happy Fourth of July.

Levity? I hope. Unfortunately, most young people today know so little about the history of this country that they don't understand why we should be so grateful. In spite of all of our flaws, this has been and hopefully will continue to be a great nation. Let's quit whining and start appreciating America. I don't see any of the crybabies moving anywhere else. They want to stay here and benefit from this great country while they complain about it.

So, what's your point? are you suggesting we stop calling it July 4th and make it a regular day so that no body is offended. That makes me wonder, for those same people who are offended by July 4th- it must be offensive to even live here, yes? I'm confused????? why stay here then??? this is a FREE country and you are FREE to leave. I'm bambooozled by this whole display of idiosy!~

Well, if you or anyone else find it such an offensive holiday, Get The Hell Out Of The USA! Because like it or not, most of us Americans, many of them who are immigrates, celebrate this holiday with pride! That's not going to change anytime soon!

when we were part of the British empire are only benefit was that we paid them a great deal of taxes. They earned money from our abundant resources.
Now that Canada is a colony of the British empire what does it benefit them? They pay the English a lot of tax money.
I don't know about you but we are doing all we can to pay the taxes we have now. Do you really want to have the British empire tax us on everything we sell.

everyone in this Country has the free will and right to believe the way they want to as long as it doesn't interfere with the free will and rights of others OR go against the laws, rules and mores of the culture and society. be thankful for the freedoms you do have for there are some Countries where the privileges of talking against the Government can be met with imprisonment or death.

If you don't appreiciate the freedoms and rights that you enjoy as an American, and cannot be thankful for the suffering of our forefathers which allow you to enjoy these freedoms, move to Canada -- or better yet, go all the way back to Britain.
