I will post a question in religion & spirituality, and I get answers (mostly from atheists) telling me Jesus never existed, and telling me I'm wrong. So they have their right to say what they think, but I don't? Wow, I don't mean all atheists but most of the time it is them.

Bland and Boring: I dont proselytize you like that. I'll admit I don't know much about atheists, that's why I dont categorize anyone or think that.

What makes you think they're saying that you don't have the right to say what you think?

If you think that Jesus was a supreme being of some sort, of course you're wrong, but when I point that out I'm not automatically also saying "...and you don't have the right to say what you think about it". I'm just pointing out that you're wrong.

Oh, queenbee, if we started treating Christians the way everyone else gets treated, you'd be crying "foul" at the top of your lungs.

You people have no idea how privileged you are.

The people whomever or whatever they claim to believe or not believe, those that spout and spew and jeer, versus ignoring the post or politely voicing their own personal opinions/beliefs or lack of them, have three purposes basically: Entertainment value, Condescension for/upon the poster, Pubescent mental rushes.

Bottom line...you are dealing with physical and/or emotional mental midgets.
You have and should STAND by and for your beliefs and you should remain UNMOVED by those that spew and jeer, but do not give the spewers more than a passing thought.
And they can NOT anger or hurt you UNLESS you allow them too.

Soooo fuggedaboutit!

Look there are more people here than just those who are like minded. Therefore you should understand that you will receive many opinions.

Maybe you could try understanding where atheists (like me) come from. Do some research on things like sun god deities and early religions prior to Christianity. You may learn some things that might even shock you.

You may even find what inspired the creation of God in the first place.

Of course you have the right to be heard. Atheists as well. Since you post a question you should be ready to receive many different answers. If you don't why do you post a question anyway?

Post whatever you want about your faith, no one is stopping you. But it's unrealistic to expect that everyone else will agree with you, or for you to expect that your opinion will not be challenged by people who see distinct differences between religious faith and scientific proof. They are two different things.

Believe what you want, just don't expect me to agree with you - especially when you can't produce objective evidence of your claim.

Well everytime I see an atheist question in R&S I see comments saying that we're wrong and we're going to hell for it.
What goes around comes around.

Word! I agree with you completely.

Religious equality is great, yeah, as long as the Christians don't get to be equal. Everyone wants to include diverse religious holidays into schools and all that stuff, but CHRISTMAS? The horror!!!

Just like racism against blacks is bad but they can call us whatever they want.

And we can't be involved in political matters - SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, people!! - but the government can push us around and restrict us as much as they want.

Umm, this is not logical... geez. It's a two way street, guys.

*edit
Bland and Boring - we HAVE to proselytize. If we didn't, we would not be living by our belief system. I do think however that some people need to adjust their style of proselytizing though. I personally believe that while I should not hide my beliefs in any way, there's no reason why I should push away and offend people by yammering about my beliefs every time I see them. That's just annoying. LIVING IT is a good witness too.

Atheist aren't hypocrites... They just don't believe what you believe. Its their opinion. When you ask a question thats what you are going to get. In their opinion you are wrong. Just like in your opinion they are wrong. Why wouldn't they get defensive when you are telling them if they don't repent to your God that they are going to hell. Put yourself in their position for a moment and think about it.

You post a question to get answers from others, thats how it works. You do not have to agree with the answer.

You have a right to be wrong and they have a right to try to educate and correct you. If you don't want to be educated then this is maybe not the best place for you.
