I believe that the best way to fight homophobia is by proving to everyone in your life that being gay is healthy, vital, inspiring, diverse, and harmless.
Any thoughts?

In the bible God says to the Israelites not to marry anyone out their race(something similar to that). So would that mean it would be wrong for a Nigerian man who is a christian to marry a woman who is a christian but is not a Nigerian?

As some of you may have noticed I was violated by the Y/A powers to be for asking the following"

"Can I pray for you about something?"

No reason other than that I violated "community guidelines" was given. I have asked that my question be reinstated for 2 main reasons 1) the question was was posted in the R & S catagory and is perfectly appropriate for the catagory, as most every belief system in the world engages in some sort of prayer.
2) I did not try to convince any one of my beliefs in the question, and I left it opened to all community members to respond.

I didn't even get a chance to copy any of the requests I was sent. So was anyone offended? A few were, some were not happy and critical of me, but it is their right to disagree with me, so why violate the question? any thoughts?

That a fat man from the North Pole in a red suit rides around the world once a year in a flying sleigh pulled by eight reindeer, one of which has a nose that glows in the dark, lands it on the rooves of every house that has a child, shimmies down their chimney, and leaves presents under a decorated tree?

Or...
That a man was born from a virgin, heals diseases, regenrates limbs, and raised at least two people from the dead, was hung on a cross until he himself died, was also raised from the dead, and then physically flew up into Heaven, wherever that is?

I asked how anyone could believe something ridiculous like that we came from monkeys and someone replied with an excellent. point.

If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? Why have they stopped evolving?

For that matter, why have WE stopped evolving?

Please believers, I desperately need some reassurance that there are people that believe in a higher being, yet still know what evolution really means.

I'll open it up to anything science related. You can explain how the sun burns, why we are in orbit, why the sea is blue, why the sky is blue, why there are so many species of animals, plants, fungi in the world, why Pluto is so cold, what natural selection is, whatever you want as long as it pertains to science

Please give me SOMETHING.

It's for my friend's sister and honestly, we're not close at all. (I mean the sister) She graduated from high school and I just wanted to get her a gift certificate. Where is an appropriate place and how much should it be. (Oh, my friend's birthday was a couple of days ago and I got her a $30 gift certificate. Would it matter if the amount is smaller?)

Didn't the Jews do god a favor by killing Jesus (allegedly)
Jesus was sent to Earth as a sacrifice for people's sins. If the Jews hadn't tortured and killed him, would god have failed. Finally wouldn't Christians owe the jews a favor, not only for being the first monothiestic religion and setting the entire basis for christianity with the old testament, don't they owe the jews for killing Jesus and washing away all of their sins

You don't see a body or hear a vocal voice, just people's inner thoughts or viewpoints. But yet, in a way, you are actually looking at the very soul of that person? Do you know that this is the part that God sees and deals with?

I mean the things you buy when you go shopping that you think are a good idea, but when you get them home you don't use them very often.
A wallpaper steamer ( not ready to decorate yet)
Coffee Perculator( so much easier to take the lid of a jar)
Sandwich toaster(just as well use the grill)
Pedometer( to see just how far I walk in circles each day but still haven't bought a battery for it)
Luxury bubble bath creme( don't like the smell)

The list goes on......... what can you add to the list?

btw. Until I put senior citizens in the main question it wouldn't post again. Is this why the page is so empty I wonder?

anytime I hear things about AIDS, world hunger, global warming, religious conflicts, natural disasters, man made tragedies, etc, to me it all comes back to overpopulation. We have too many people next to each others, im not saying start world war 3 or spread around bird flu, but its hard to imagine things like that not approaching to "balance" out everything the way the planet tends to do.

So why isn't birth control being pushed more? Instead we look for the more complicated solutions instead of trying to cut the problems off from where they spawn.

I want you to answer about a religion/non-religion not your own. I'm not asking you to say that you respect a part of their religion/non-religion. I know that, at least with the atheists up here, they don't always respect the foundations of Christianity. Understandable. I'm asking all of you to tell me what characteristics could you admire/respect in a person in regards to their faith. Would you respect them if they had unwavering belief in their faith or god? Purely evident devotion? Open-mindedness? Zeal? What?

Remember, answer about something you're not a part of.

For me, I have to respect the atheist and Muslim. Atheists: Some of them do read the Bible and can easily combat someone in Christianity. I admire that. Sometimes they know more than Christians themselves. They also, even if I don't agree with them, a lot of times give intelligent answers. Muslims: I admire their zeal. Once again, don't exactly agree, but they have a devotion/zeal I highly respect.
