I want you to answer about a religion/non-religion not your own. I'm not asking you to say that you respect a part of their religion/non-religion. I know that, at least with the atheists up here, they don't always respect the foundations of Christianity. Understandable. I'm asking all of you to tell me what characteristics could you admire/respect in a person in regards to their faith. Would you respect them if they had unwavering belief in their faith or god? Purely evident devotion? Open-mindedness? Zeal? What?

Remember, answer about something you're not a part of.

For me, I have to respect the atheist and Muslim. Atheists: Some of them do read the Bible and can easily combat someone in Christianity. I admire that. Sometimes they know more than Christians themselves. They also, even if I don't agree with them, a lot of times give intelligent answers. Muslims: I admire their zeal. Once again, don't exactly agree, but they have a devotion/zeal I highly respect.

I can respect any person who can have an open mind and can argue their point without insult.
I can admire an atheists intelligence as well. And for Christianity, I admire thier devotion. I've gone to a few services with a freind of mine, and looking at some you can see they really believe in Jesus, and doing his work.
No doubt there are exceptions. All kinds of people believe all kinds of things. It mostly comes down to respect. I can't respect any person who can't respect me.

im going to say what i respect about many christians and not necessarily the actual religion because they all have different views. some i dont have any respect for at all while some i hold in the most highest regard. i respect some christians who can have a strong faith in their religion yet not deny scientific discoveries because their bible says differently. they understand the bible isnt to be taken 100% literally but should be more metaphorical and not a history or science book. that is what i respect about many of them

There's really nothing I admire about faith. Obedience to religious authorities, belief in things with no evidence, and blind devotion are not things I hold in any esteem.

I tend to agree with Dawkins that the moderate strains of religion accomplish little other than supporting the fanatical strains.

I suppose there have been some good religious composers and artists, though I'm sure they could have been great without religion, and I'm sure other great artists would not have been as great had the Church controlled them. If Shakespeare were writing for religious authorities, do you think we'd have Macbeth today?

I would most admire someone's ability to believe what they believe, and still get along with other people who believe differently. Doesn't matter which religion or lack thereof they believed in. Tolerance is the key to a successful world.

i do no longer comprehend a guy or woman in accordance with what ideals they in my view carry, yet how they channel those ideals of their lives. If their ideals (be it in technology or theology) motivate them to try for inner maximum growth and to to do some thing to help society in some way, without feeling they might desire to rigidity their ideals on others or that their sole venture is to alter the way others believe, they have my comprehend.
