People said that anything that could hypothetically be unhealthful is sinful:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AilwGsDQztQpIGNueClc0NXd7BR.?qid=20070627120015AAoNlLl

So by that standard, wouldn't the greatest sin in the universe be a cigarette? In the top five would be fried foods with trans fats, right? Both of those are MUCH greater health risks than the sins listed in the Bible.

If Jesus is still alive (and could possibly return), isn't it more accurate to say that he took a nap for our sins?

Am I the only one who noticed that this question gets asked at least 20 times a day... "I like women (or men depending on the sex of the person asking), but I don't know if I'm bi", or something similar???

I mean, why does our society put so much pressure on people that they feel they need to label themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc? I feel so sorry for the people who ask this question, because for the most part you can tell that they truly feel like they have to decide what they are!

Come on guys... just love yourself, and be with who you want to be with! You might not can marry them in every state, but there's no laws stopping you from being yourself!!! And loving yourself!

Thanks... I just had to get that off my chest... lol.

I just answered a question about Tank Jones and Vick. The question refered to the “Thug” attitude. Why do so many athletes have the “bad boy” or “Thug” or “ghetto” image? Is it just the “thing” right now or does it have something to do with the way they were brought up? Does it hurt the sport? And do you want your kids watching some NFL stars and think that all I have to do is make it through 2 years of school and get drafted? What ever happened to the American dream of getting a degree and being some body? I know you are going to say its all powered by money. But is there something deeper then that.

Please note: no reference was made towards race and this question has no intent to be offensive. The only intent is to better understand why people act the way they do. And in this case “Thuggish” “ghettoish” and “bad boy” way.

Just out of curiosity, without looking it up on tinternet if you please coz id like to see what you really think, do any of you know the difference between:
England, Great Britain, United Kingdom, British Isles.
Just write down what you think each of these are, and what they include. Im trying not to sound patronising, but would be interesting. :)

Ok, I used to live down south(South Carolina/Florida) briefly and I live in DC and everyone thinks I'm from the backwoods and they say that I have a strong southern accent. I don't! Everyone says it's really strong and I act very polite and shy like a girl from the south.

Do you find reading religious books or magazines that have not been published by Watchtower, or other officially (directly, organisationally) associated publishing houses useful? If yes, in what way can they be useful at all?

D. Price writes this in-depth investigation of miraculous events that made an Israeli victory possible in the 1967 Six-Day War.

Stories abound of the appearance of mysterious troops and sophisticated weaponry that aided the Israelis in their victory. Was the outcome of this conflict
foretold by biblical writings thousands of years prior to the actual event? Was the Israeli victory a miracle?

Benjamin Franklin
"I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absenteed myself from Christian assemblies."
"Lighthouses are more helpful then churches."
-Benjamin Franklin, American Founding Father, author, and inventor
Abraham Lincoln
"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma."
Thomas Jefferson (Deist)
"History I believe furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance, of which their political as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purpose. "
"The Christian god can easily be pictured as virtually the same god as the many ancient gods of past civilizations. The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites."
"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity"And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerve in the brain of Jupiter. But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this most venerated reformer of human errors."
"Religions are all alike – founded upon fables and mythologies."
"I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature."
"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man."
"It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are 20 gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."

The old testament really bothers me. It seems like God was really ruthless. Only after Jesus came did there seem to be any real compassion or mercy. Is this because it was God in the flesh?
