i know there's been some debate about how it affects children

so...lets say someone devotes their life to having faith in God and an afterlife of paradise. they believe in it whole-heartedly. yet when they die, there's nothing...God isn't real and there's no afterlife. what did they really have to lose by believing? they lived a fulfilling, happy life...what did it hurt by having a faith while they were alive?

Why should you respect/love/honor a man when he is nothing more than a cosmic accident, a bag of chemicals twitching to the dictates of his DNA, no more than an animal who became self-aware?

You know our sun will go red giant and the universe will peter out into nothing due to entropy, so what does your morality matter? What does your behavior matter? What do your accomplishments matter?

How many of you have been in love? I know that many people think they have been and they more than likely have. I currently am and everything goes okay for the most part but then we get into our fights and my fiance' tells me that he's tired of dealing with me and that he just wants me gone most of the time. I know that he doesn't mean it because a few hours later he says he's sorry and that he doesn't want to lose me but I don't know what to believe. The other day I was messing with his phone and hit a wrong button and he had a couple text messages from another girl on there. I said something to him and he said that she's just a friend, I want to believe him more than anything because I love him so much but I don't know. There haven't been anymore so it makes me want to believe him. Does anyone have any idea/opinions on why love can't just be easy?

As you can see my name is lost in darkness.
I know that god is there, as I once had an awesome relationship with him, but after same horrible things happened to me in my church(The head deacon told kids to stay away from me. All though I was living my life for Christ. Now this hurt me very much, but I pushed passed it, then a little whille later I heard others in the church talking about me saying that I'll NEVER change) So here I am a new man and not wanting to see ANYONE else to get hurt like I did.
This is the Question.
Why does god allow satin to try his best to hurt and tear us down to nothing but an empty hurtfull shell of a human being?
If he REALLY is ALL knowing then he would know that satin is causing pain on us could get us to walk away from him? And he then could step in and get it so he/satin does NOT turn us.!
And PLEASE don't tell that it is our CHOICE to turn or not, Because a child that is about to touch a hot stove WE as parents would step in and stop them from

I answered a question about Paris Hilton getting out of jail on Yahoo OMG. I said I was glad Paris was out . She spent some time in jail, had to pay a fine and will be on probation. I have seen others who were on probation or even Parole assalt people and get less jail time and less consequences. I felt she should have to pay but it was over now. A guy (I think It was the guy who used to call himself Major, he has made personal attacks before.) He addressed a comment to me, and said he hoped that I or one of my family was seriously hurt or killed by a drunk driver. I think that was horrible a lot more horrible than me thinking the "Paris" thing should be over. The fact is my son was critically injured in a car accident and has permanent brain damage. No one was drunk. But I know car crash consequences. I don't blame anyone. And I don't feel I deserved his attack. If the person that said that reads this he may be pleased. But I am sorry these sites are used to generate hate. R U?
