God set the Law --people could not adhere to the total Law.
Jesus was the only reasonable sacrifice--perfect sinlessness for the sin problem. Scripture states "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission." John the Baptist said "Behold the Lamb of God" The Father said "Behold my beloved son in whom I am well pleased"

I just think he needed to let us know there is a realm other than planet earth and allow us to make connection with it. If the earth and man's mind is all there is, it will obviously end at one time or the other. And if today is an example we have so far made a poor showing. I don't look at his death in the same light as standard religion. My viewpoint is that he gave us an insight into the spiritual realm and the fact that our spirits live on. He came to rescue us from the physical not to redeem us. That is my viewpoint.

Because an 'enemy came in the middle of the night and sowed weeds'.The Master thought that if He tried to un -weed them He might pull the good crops as well.So He sent his only Son that whoever looks on Him may be saved.
Death came through sin, likewise through grace (Jesus and Mary -the new Adam and Eve );we are saved. Please note that grace is the opposite of sin.

Man, because of his corrupt nature, is incapable of satisfying the demands of the law of God. God, by nature is Holy, Just, and merciful. We are not able to reconcile ourselves to God, and therefore, because of his mercy, he sent an external agent (His Son) to do this on our behalf, thus all 3 (Holy, Just, and Merciful) attributes of God are satisfied (instead of the error of minimizing one or more, or emphasizing Mercy over Just and Holy).

Jesus was not sent to the whole human race but was sent to the lost sheep of Israel (the Jews)
A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."
23Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."
24He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

Pliers, baling wire, a Hershey bar, a garden hose, an egg timer, and a gallon of vinegar.
Oh, wait, no, that's what MacGyver needed to save yet another ex-girlfriend. My mistake.

God is righteous all had sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death. Jesus paid the penalty of death for those who accept the atonement.
