so many people in here say they're not religious, but they believe in god and live by the bible, and worship jesus, and pray, all the same things that religious people do.

doesn't this mean you're religious or belong to a religion?

You're at a company dinner. A co-worker (older and married) offers to buy your drink. You politely refuse, insisting you can get your own -- but he insists.

Ettiquite teaches me that it's rude to refuse in this case. So I accept and he buys my drink. However, I can't help but feel this was somewhat inappropriate on his part -- and perhaps on mine for accepting. What's the rule here?

I go out to lunch with a co-worker practically everyday and the same choices just get boring and I don't even look forward to having to pick out a restaurant or fast food joint. Is it appropriate for me to just bring a sandwich, fruit and snack from home and buy the drink from the restaurant? I figure not only would I be ahppier with my slection but I could save money. Never really thought about it until now but is this appropriate and acceptable dining Etiquette?

The way charity is funded at the moment is a joke, some charities get millions and some are barely able to survive. What i propose is to introduce a 'charity tax' so that each charity can have its fair share of peoples money. The paying population would only need to give say 10p per week, and that would make significant changes for all those involved. I could go on for ages about this so i will stop there, so please let me know what you think of my idea.

Why does it burn and turn to ashes just as quickly as the wood in my fireplace? I've conducted this experiment 12 times last winter, and I have yet to find a bible that lasts eternally under these conditions. Doesn't that prove that the word really isn't eternal, it just has too many copies in circulation?

Piltdown Man: An Orang-utan Jaw and a Human Skull. Alleged to be 500,000 years old, they were displayed as an absolute proof of human evolution in several museums. For more than 40 years, many scientific articles were written on "Piltdown man", many interpretations and drawings were made, and the fossil was presented as important evidence for human evolution. No fewer than 500 doctoral theses were written on the subject. A lie that lasted 40 and challenged the faith of many Christians. But was proven a LIE.

Ask your self, do you put faith in a polished lie or do you believe in the bible which says that God created man in his own immage. God has said that all things will pass away, but my word will not pass away.

Choose you this day who you will serve. As for me and my house, I will serve the Lord.

I was visiting America just before Easter and of course Easter found me there. I was shocked beyong belief that everything continues as normal during this special time and America, being a Christian country, should be the one leading the whole world in celebrating by making sure there is no school and no-one goes to work (public holiday). In South Africa, it is a great time and we go out to visit our parents and relatives to be together remembering what Christ did for mankind. Am I missing something?

“Guarantee for me six things and I will guarantee Paradise for you: tell the truth when you speak, fulfill your promises, be faithful when you are trusted, safeguard your private parts, lower your gaze, and withhold your hands (from harming others).”

“I order you to be truthful, for indeed truthfulness leads to righteousness, and indeed righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and strives for truthfulness until he is written as a truthful person with God. And beware of falsehood, for indeed falsehood leads to sinning, and indeed sinning leads to the Fire. A man continues to tell lies and strives upon falsehood until he is written as a liar with God.” (Saheeh Muslim)

“Whoever does three things with regards to people, they will necessitate three things from him: whenever he speaks to them he is truthful; whenever they entrust him with something he does not betray them; and whenever he promises them something he fulfils it.
