Andy says the atheists are less confrontational?
That is the single most stupid thing ever posted in this section.

It demonstrates its ability to divide among small and insecure minds. I am completely comfortable and secure in my faith, so even the rude questions don't really bother me. Actually, I would like to be able to ask legitimate questions about other religions because I am interested in them. I've taken some religion classes, but nothing can replace speaking with actual adherents of the religion. I was brought up to respect all religions and I do. It does make the "we versus them" mentality come out. However, I've always contended that anyone who is threatened by the existence of another religion or by a nonbeliever isn't very secure in his or her faith.

Yes. I usually give an elaborate reason behind my answers and sometimes cite my sources, however...this isn't hard to see. A child would be able to recognize the eternal conflict that religion has set upon this earth and would pray for everyone to just admit that their is one God to rule them all.
Religion I think tries to place ownership on God, and relate their faith as the chosen faith...which is totally against the Will of God. God's desire for individuality which is instilled in you to this day is what makes us human, and him God. Stop trying to put ownership on God, just be acceptant, and tolerant of others. Native Americans believed in God just fine before Christians came along and murdered them..I'm sure the made it to heaven just fine without knowing about Jesus Christ.

It makes me laugh when people always single out religion as causing divisions and war. What about things like land, property, territory, money, love etc. These things cause wars. What are we supposed to do - start living like hippy cavemen???
Strictly speaking it was only the crusaders that were wars of religion. They were wars between ISLAM and CHRISTIANITY. Please enlighten me - what wars have Hinduism (this includes Buddhism, Sikhism and jainism), and Zoroastrianism caused???

I don't think so. Most of the aggressive postings that I've seen have come from atheists who are bashing religion. Therefore, I'm inclined to conclude that the constant aggressives Q's on R&S plainly demonstrate the bitter, cynical nature of atheism.

Actually it shows the divisive nature of humans.
Look at our beautifull little planet, look at what mankind is doing to it.

ABSOLUTELY. But Jesus said he came not to bring peace, but a sword. He knew that many would refuse to accept his teachings, and others would twist his words and use them to hurt others. Someday he will make it all right.
But for now, I like the open forum.
Keep seeking truth...

Maybe so - but check out the politics section. I used to hang out there - this is kindergarten compared to that.

NO! It plainly demonstrates the guilt of those who know that there is a better way, but are fighting against it!
