I know the Yahoo! owns this site and therefore has control over what will and won't be said. But who decides what is insulting and what is vulgar? If this service is supposed to support dialogue and understanding, why is it punishing people for expressing their opinions? "You can express your opinions, as long as they don't offend someone." What a bunch of crap! An essential part of revealing truth is to confront ugly opinions and misconceptions. Why not just let the users respond to the offensive question or answer so that everyone can be heard and something can be learned from it?
Moreover, if you only ask a question (especially one that is idiotic to begin with) you should expect less-than-favorable responses. If people can only tell you what you want to hear, what is the point? Life is not always pretty and neither is the truth. If Yahoo! really wants to make this a valuable tool for society, shouldn't people be allowed to express their true opinions instead of being censored?

Non-believers...set aside your incredible gift for asking questions often laced with sarcasm which I have to admit sometimes makes even me smile and laugh, for a moment, and answer this question. If you were sitting beside your child knowing that the doctors have only given her moments to live, what would you say when she asked, "Daddy/Mommy, I'm scared to leave you. I love you so much. What will happen to me when I die?"
Even in your disbelief could you be so sure of your decision to deny Christ that you would also deny hers by telling her there is nothing waiting for her after death? (please don't be unkind...my friend is facing this very question as you read this)

I have no problem with anyone even if they were purple, but after observing people around me both white and black, and others, I have come to the conclusion that the black are racist a whole lot more than the whites. Forgive me if this question offends anyone, but I must know is it because of their history or are they still angry or what? And also, when I use the word black people, I get hushed and looked down upon, but when the black people say "you white people" they don't get hushed or looked down upon, I'm not taking sides, just curious

What are you supposed to do when somebody you like starts acting really distant towards everybody and completely unlike their character. like if somebody's a really warm, open talkative person and suddenly they don't talk to anybody and are like lost in their own problems are you just supposed to leave them alone or ask them what's wrong or try to make it better.

So how do you guys really feel about being sent flowers or candy for Valentines day at work?
Last year I sent a candy/cookie package to my boyfriend to work and he loved it, said he loved everyone stopping at his desk to steal some and that he felt loved and special. So I could do that again but I was thinking of a cake or something different.... what do you think? and do you guys like the fuss? and what about flowers?

I know that my great grandmother was from the eastern regions of china. However even thou, myself have none of these trademarks (my mother and my grandfather did), Even thou i would clarify myself british white, i do have a slight deeper tan skin/yellow pigment to it. What ethnic background box do i tick on application forms etc... ?

I dont want to offend, or be rude. But it has always confused me.

There is a bit of Christian wisdom I think we could all benefit from, namely "Hate the sin, love the sinner."
It seems that we're blaming individuals for the way the entire Christian institution behaves, trying to turn religious beliefs into law. Now, with sin being a religious concept, we need a different catchy slogan to make this idea our own. My idea is this: Love the dog, hate the dogma.
(This is in no way calling anyone a dog, but I just liked how the word-play turned out...)

I know you'll all call me a southern, bigot, racist.

But I just want everyone to know that the Civil War ended in the 1860s. and then "reconstruction" raped the South even further.

Not everyone South of the Mason-Dixon Line is bare foot, with three teeth and a shotgun... except my Grandfather.. and he's a Democrat.

I'm not in favor of Slavery, I'm not racist. I'm just sick of being judged by the area of the country that I was born in. How is that any different than being judged by the color of your skin?

I'm from the South and Proud of it.

Ive been trawling through the yahoo answers and find myself wondering why do some people allow themselves to to get so wound up and answer in an aggresive or obnoxious manner.If they respond to a stupid or offensive question do they not realise the recipitent will be laughing their socks at the other end.What Im trying to say is get angry with your keyboard if you like but try to remember you will be laughed at.

There is a description in the Bible. I am a christian and I think about this. I look forward to Jesus return. Of course I want to feel secure in the salvation of my family and friends and others, but I think about Jesus saying he is going to prepare a place for me and I can only imagine the scene that will be set before my eyes.
