I'm not anti any nation. There are some things about America I don't agree with, but then again there are somethings about Britain I don't like either. There are good and bad in every nation on the planet and to over-generalise is to appear ignorant and very stupid.
Most of the time people make statements on here to get a reaction. Some bloke was on here today saying 'Do you loath England?' and I replied by asking him what his purpose was and said that to be hostile for hostile's sake is a bit stupid. I got a couple of thumbs down for that answer!

Is it anti American/UK? I see a lot of criticism of political policies but surely that is healthy.
I have worked with Americans nearly all my life. I have known many good ones and some bad ones. As in all aspects of life it is the bad ones who are seen the most and have the most impact even if they are in the minority.
Americans in general suffer from not travelling like Europeans and have a somewhat insular outlook. This is compounded by many American tourists who tend to give the impression that anyone who is not an American is somehow a lesser species. This is then compounded by the bragging such as 'only in America' and the 'we have it all bigger and better 'etc.
The UK suffers because of the behaviour of it's tourists who tend to act like drunken yobs and many tourist hotels around the world actually will not take Brits.
So how do you change these attitudes and bad behaviours? You talk about it. You discuss it.
The first step is recognising that behaviour and attitudes attract criticism.

It feels that everything in this country is disappearing mostly we are as a nation. Don't get me wrong i like the USA but its like we as English people are not aloud to do or say anything about it but anyone can do or say what they like here yet we must sit back and take it. as a country of different creeds, colours, race that's great live and let live i say,i don't want this country to become a dumping ground and get used, which i believe we are becoming.

I am British, I am white, I know about the supression of the Welsh - making Welsh language and culture illiegal etc. The not so sucessful supression of the Scottish.
I know about the British Empire (supression of Non-Whites), the colonisation of America (supression of Native Americans) colonisation of austrailia (suppression of Aboriginal People).
Do I need to carry on? Thats the history.
Most recently we are erroding our Human Rights inventing an ID card supporting other govenments in doing the same - America and Guantanamo Bay, The unjustifable (according to international law made in part by us) war in Iraq, The recent scandle of Celebrity Big Brother (in itself a programme not to be proud of).
Give me an alliance post WWII that has not been for greed or oil GIVE me something to be proud of other than the occupation of lands, supressions of native peoples and a general bad attitde to anyone who isnt obviously white

Sadly, because being anti-American is popular right now. I guarantee that if you could hold a face-to-face conversation with a lot of these idiots, they couldn't back up their opinion for two minutes.
They hate President Bush, but they don't even know why. They scream that Haliburton is bad, but they don't know what they do or why they think it's bad. They have no idea that their beloved Clinton also gave no-bid contracts to Haliburton because they are one of only two companies in this country that handles that business.

It simply reflects the population....and it is not only ethnic minorities who feel that way.
As far back as the 2nd Great War Americans were labelled as '0verpaid, 0versexed and 0ver here'
I find them no different to other people, beneath the surface.

I love Americans. Been to the USA many times and always found the folks friendly and polite. You can't blame every Joe for what the president gets up to ...just as you can't me for the antics of Tony Blaire.
