My name is Bareth and I have the surname Thye(from my grandmother's family).Can any1 tell me what my chinese name would be or where can I find a site translating chinese words(their meanings)in English?

I have a book on Chinese names. There are many ways to transalate one's name into Chinese. It is a good idea to have a Chinese person who like you do it for you. If you use a book, you may get some undesirable secondary meanings. This can also happen if a Chinese is hostile to non-Chinese. Itt is good to have several Chinese offer suggestions. I have had several Chinese lovers and many male friends, so I have several good Chinese names. My name is Garrett. Miss Chyu Bi-Chen calls me Chia-Li that can mean Fine Logic or Beautiful Truth. Bareth is rather long for a Chinese name. You would have some combo of Ba, Pa, Bai, Pe plus Le, Lei, Lai, Lee and probably omit the final TH. There are many possibilities as I said. For the surname, Tai means great, so that should do. Tai Pe-Lei is a possibility. Great White Wisdom is one of many posswi8bilities for you. Note that surnames are first in China...and Japan.

But personally, I always try to give it an authentic touch by making it resemble a real chinese name, which requires some simplifications to limit the characters to 1 - 2 for both the surname and the personal name. My suggestion would be as follows.
Bareth = 伯樂 ( BAA Lah ), which also happens to be a very famous horse trainer in historical times.
Thye = 戴 ( Dai ) which is the 57th ranked Chinese surname in a recent survey.
In Chinese, they write the surnames first, so your name would be 戴伯樂.

My point is to choose the chinese character that make your chinese pronounciation name sound poetic like a foreign literature writer, there are many other characters that can be pronounced like your name but choosing the wrong characters would often have comedic effects in meaning. Chinese characters are sometimes hard to translate just on it's own. as the one character are often ambiguous in nature and a "word in english" is often formed by a two characters or three characters combination in chinese.
