Christians are just one group with whom Reality is not popular. People have many escapes from it and want to forbid other types of escapes. My oldest sister is a bad example of the dumb Christian who justifies everything she does, e.g. theft, extortion, slander, etc. and acts as if giving her church $50 a month puts her above the law. If her preacher upholds her, he is an accessory to her crimes, and I have seen preachers and congregations ignore some bad things done by people who give much money to churches.

What group do you belong to, since you seem to want to be not an individual, but lumped in with a bunch of people in the past you never met, and woudn't have wanted to meet.

Hitler was an occultist, the holocaust did indeed occur, Mel Gibson is a christian, just a very confused one, the witchraft trials were caused by ignorant, superstisious people who I'm sure called themselves christians.

Also, the crusades were initiated by a catholic pope looking for wealth from the east, and carried out by peasants who relied on priests to tell them the word of God since they couldn't read, so the catholic church could basically convince the people of darn near anything they wanted. The inquisition was initiated by the Spanish government, along with, yes again, the catholic church. And yes, does indeed make me glad I'm not catholic, since being christian gets me blamed for the witch trials I apparently conducted myself, which I find to be just about enough guilt to bear over something centuries ago that I had absolutely nothing to do with.

You people need to learn a new song, cause this same "question" day after day gets old. Apparently, all that self-proclaimed high IQ's of atheists doesn't include any imagination.

Wow, you're really mixed up on your facts. The catholics did the crusades, not the Christians of the time. Infact if you read your history books, they killed the Christians and bible translaters because they went against the pope and the pope didn't want the people knowing what the bible really said.

I've never met a Christian in my life that said the holocaust never happened. Many Christians tried to hide the Jews from the Germans. Read the book, "The Hiding Place", by Cory Tenboom.

And lastly, Jesus said we will know true Christians by their fruits. Hitler's fruits were hatred, death and torture. Mel Gibson's fruits were to glorify his latin sect of the catholic religion and obviously by his swearing and mean racial comments he made in that interview while he was drunk he shows bad fruits, too.

We tell people to love Jesus and walk with Him and He will change your life and fill it with joy, peace and salvation.

Hope that helps.

Look, if you can convince your self without 1 shred of evidence or any proof that:-

You are right and everyone else is wrong, so wrong that they will all be killed or worse.
This world is 5000 years old.
The whole universe was created in six (literal) days by a super alien.
The earth is the center of the universe (sorry that was before they discovered that god changed it).
That all of mankind's thoughts and deeds are being monitored and recorded to be used against us all in a trail.
That a loving god has created a hell and intends to put his loved creations in there to be tortured for eternity.
That a young (12 - 14 years old) girl was impregnated by a super alien whilst still a virgin.
That their are a few millions of fallen angels (aliens)dwelling invisibly amongst us.
That a man tortured to death came back to life, then flew off to some alien place.
That whatever crimes you commit against your fellow man (no matter how bad) are forgiven if you accept Jesus as your personal Savior.
That from a collection of thousands of writings and essays written by hundreds of people over thousands of years, (containing bits from the Egyptian book of the dead and Sumerian creation legends to name a couple of sources) a few samples translated and copied hundreds of times then cobbled together for political reasons contains the one and only truth for mankind.

Just believe 6 of these impossible things before breakfast, and you too will be able to faithfully deny your own history.

*That is what they have been taught. Or they get their history mixed up, I am pagan, but I am also aware of the murders and killings pagans did in times past, but that is over and done with pagans today are not like this. Around 90 or 100 A.D Pagans went on a war with Christianity and tried to wipe them off this planet, then in the early 300's Constitine came along and Rome eventualy became a Christian run government instead of pagan, then it was the Christians doing the klilling and the pagans were nearly wiped out. *

It sounds like you're thinking of specific instances you've known.
Like anyone, when confronted with an unpleasant truth, we can retreat into denial. I don't think that is true in all cases however, it may be an unfamiliarity with the simple basic facts of history.
It does sound to me though that what they may have been trying to say was that although these groups claimed to be christian, if they were truly christian, they would not have done (whatever)

There are a lot of horrendous things that have been done in the name of Christ, but I don’t claim those people as Christians, at least not good Christians. They are hypocrites at best.

Here’s what Jesus had to say about people like that:

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Clearly, there are many people who think they are doing good, but are not. The sad thing is that the people who don’t know Jesus see this more clearly than many of those who say that they do.

I don't really care about the history of anything.

I care about the present, and my current relationship with God and with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

If my grandparents were Stalin and Hitler, I'd still have an opportunity to be a good person. Everyone makes their own choices.

Since I do not understand what on earth you mean I can only say:

You have no clue what my history is....

I personally have never said...the pagans did it or the anti-theists did it and have not seen it said unless someone said it in one of those four page long speeches that I never read and always thumbs down because they take too long to scroll through...sorry

That's not my history.

I'm not related to Hitler, nor do I agree with his actions. And I have never hunted any witches...

I'm hoping that you're not implying that all Christians through out history are responsible for what other people do. That would be a pretty ignorant statement.
