How can i keep from laughing when i go in that office as he's packing up to leave?

I'm a saved sinner and I'm just wondering why some unsaved sinners think Christmas is offensive because we aren't shoving our beliefs down your throats just because Christmas has the word "Christ" in it doesn't mean that we are trying to put our beliefs on you. Christmas was what it was named in the beginning so we didn't come up with that name. State your answer. I'm open minded.

As identified by Erving Goffman, a total institution is defined as an institution that regulates all aspects of a person's life under a single authority. There are four common traits of total institutions:

(1) All aspects of life are conducted in the same place under the control of a single authority.
(2) Any activities within the institution are conducted in the company of others in the same circumstances.
(3) The authorities devise rules and schedule activities without consulting the participants.
(4) All aspects of life within a total institution are designed to fulfill the purpose of the organization.

Do you think that all four of these characteristics can be attributed to the church? I do, and so do most other sociologists. What seems odd to me is that other examples of total institutions include a prison and a mental hospital.

Church.... prison.... mental hospital.... yeah, I can see the connection.

Okay if i have to be somewhere by nine and we awak up by eight. She has to take a shower, put all this makeup, and change her clothes where it is a rush or not. She does not care if it is SATS or i'm going to work. She always HAS to look good. I have to tell her it is an emergency for her to even get going. In addition, she is always on a diet and telling me how all the guys chase her. She thinks all the guys want her and she even accuses old ladies of being lesbians and wanting her. She accused me of being jealous of her because she's prettier. The funny part is that everyone tells me I look exactly like her. Not to mention she is always talking about men wanting her yet she accused my father of cheating. She looks at guys and calls them cute but once my father looked at a picture of Tyra Banks. She flipped out and accused him of cheating. any advice, tips, comments.

Then why do they defy their own commandments, eg you should not kill? If it's against g-d's wishes why should I even believe that they are nothing but jewish in name only and misusing the name of g-d?

Or, wouldn't he have been killed from lack of oxygen in the whales stomach? Or, wouldn't he have been digested by the acids in the whale stomach like everything else? Is this just a a mythological fable? If so, for what reason?

I am a social worker in a women's prison. Many of the women I work with are pregnant and it is necessary for them to decide what will become of their children while they are incarcerated. Usually they have family members who are willing/able to take the child, but not always. For those who have no family/friend option we like to inform them of adoption and so forth. I have noticed that often the African American women are very much against adoption. Not always of course, but more so than women of other racial groups. I was wondering if anyone, particularly African American women, could help me to understand this so I can be more effective in my work with these ladies.

I asked others if they would prefeer to be born rich or to work for it and every body choses the first one.
so, no one wants to work to make money.
why there are so many americans buying big expensive houses? buying toys? expensive cars and other things when it makes us unhappy to work for these things.
why not forget about making a lot of money and live with less.

Can anyone tell me why Christians think that Jesus is god when he never claimed that? Otherwise it would be stated clearly and unambiguously in the Bible but it is not.
You can find him calling himself Son of God but others are also called sons of God in the Bible (for example Adam). He never said something "I am your God". So why Christians assume that he is God??? After all, the divinity of Jesus is the foundation of Christianity and if it is true, then there must be a clear and open statement in the Bible that Jesus is God. I do not mean to hurt anyone's feelings. My respect two all Christians. It is just the question I wanted to ask for a long time. Many thanks to all those who will answer.
