I have only known them for a few months and have no clue as to what they would like. I do NOT want to get them any kind of gift certificate.

If they like alcohol, a nice (and I mean NICE) bottle of wine or spirit would be lovely. Otherwise flowers, chocolates, gift basket with a variety of things... It really depends on their interests as well. But this is what I would give as a general idea. Hope this helps!

How about a gift basket. Harry and David have some nice fruit and muchies baskets. Some movie passes. If you are over 21, a basket of wine, cheese and crackers.

I like to give acquaintances picture frames. People can always use them and they are so universal I don't have to worry about sending the wrong message, food allergies, or wondering what kind of music they like. I've never received anything but lavish praise for these "thoughtful" gifts

FOOD is the best gift for people you want to impress without looking like you overdid it. Some kind of sausage/cheese set, candies, Harry & David sort of stuff would be perfect.

A good bottle of wine is usually well-received.
Or take them out for dinner at a nice place.
A fruit basket or cheese assortment is good too.

I understand but a GC might be the best cause it is hard to go wrong with a GC to a nice place to eat,and it is better to do that rather than get them something they might not like and then really don't like you.

Get them a Christmas Cactus -- they have beautiful blooms, or a basket of poinsettias.
