Then why do they defy their own commandments, eg you should not kill? If it's against g-d's wishes why should I even believe that they are nothing but jewish in name only and misusing the name of g-d?

No. It's in the Middle East which means it's an Arab Country. Israel is really called Palestine. Jews are just trying to take its land, thats why there's war there now because they're trying to concur the land that is not theirs.

After the Holocaust, the United Nations sanctioned Israel as two states, a Jewish one (which is currently about the size of New Jersey, just to get a sense of the size of this much-contested piece of land) and an Arab one (what is now Jordan). After the British Mandate pulled out of the territorry, the Arabs invaded, trying to force the Jews off of the land. They did not (and still do not) recognize Israel's right to exist, and have tried many times to terrorize the Jewish majority to give back the land in return for peace. Unfortunately, the more land Isreal gives back, the more land the Palestinians use to launch rockets. The Israeli army (the IDF, or Israel Defence Force) is an army of self-defence. Every Jewish citizen is required to join the army unless excused for a very narrow range of reasons, because Israel needs every person she can get to defend her in a case of emergency. There are 15 MILLION Jews in the word, and one Jewish state (we are less than 1% of the world poplulation), and there are 1 BILLION Muslims with majorities in countless countries in and near the middle east. Israel NEEDS a defence force if she is to survive in this world, and so when someone hurts Israel, she hurts them back...it's her only survival mechanism. G-d allows killing for self-defence...and Israel does not kill innocents just for the sake of killing. Israel does not use her citizens as human shields (niether do they use the Arab-Israelis who have Israeli citizenship...yes, there are Arabs with Israeli citizenship. Arabic is even one of Israels two official languages!) Israel gets no perverse pleasure from the murder of Palestinian children. Unfortunately, the Palestinians have no qualms about murdering Jewish children...one prominant case is Kobi Mandell. Also, as recent events have shown (fighting between Hamas and Fatah), some Palestinians have no qualms about killing Muslim children either. My question is, how can some people twist the Qu'ran so much? I know many Muslims, and it is not a violent religion any more than Judaism or Christianity, so how do we let these religious extremists aquire so much power?

Israel is a Jewish state like America is a Christian nation.

You must understand that the commandment is "Do not murder."
That is totally different from not killing.

Israel is a nation that is existentially threatened by Islamic terror. When a "ticking bomb" is encountered, there is no choice but to arrest or kill him.

The terrorists are the Arab Muslims who blow themselves up in Israeli restaurants and who fire rockets at Israeli civilians.

The ones who fight back against the terrorists are the protectors of freedom and democracy. They act in self-defense.

They will not disapprove of terrorism, because they regard it as their most effective weapon in Islamizing the entire world.

Israel is a Jewish state just as America is an atheist (not Christian) nation.

God used to encourage the tribe of Israel to fight other groups. The Jews are His chosen people. Why would things changes after only a couple thousand years?

Should they just submit to the Palestinians?

There is no such commandment as "thou shalt not kill," otherwise we'd all be guilty of klling ants that we step upon without even knowing it.

The correct interpretation is "thou shalt not murder; therefore they're not "defying the commandment" by defending themselves against the murderous hordes of crazies surrounding their tiny speck of land in the region.

Yes it is.

If you read your Bible (Old Testament) you would see where God's Chosen..the Jews.. have repeatedly had problems and made mistakes with God. They continually mess up, get in trouble and then come back around. This has happened over and over and over again. Enough to make one dizzy. So, whats new and what's your point?
