Sometimes the most simple ideas are the best.
I would just cover the box in some nice wrapping paper and then go out to nature and pick a thin twig and a leaf...... you can then spray paint them and it adds a really beautiful look and it will jazz up any paper......... even brown parcel paper.

You could go better and place the box on a large sheet of tissue paper. Gather the edges together and bunch in the middle with a large peice of curling ribbon.

Depending on how big the pretzels are, you could get some thin card and make a tube. Put the pretzels inside and then wrap the tube leaving approx 3 inch either end. You then bunch the ends up with some ribbon and it will look like a large cracker!

The possiblities are endless.

Good luck x

There is a variety of containers for homemade goodies. Many stores are now featuring fancy boxes but the price is usually up there. If you hunt last minute you might find some already 50% off. However, there are holiday treat bags that cost $2.00 for about 10 or paper holiday treat sacks at $.10 each. You can also get 'take-away' style containers in craft stores suitable for just this sort of thing. Some are plain white others are pattened.
Or go to the fabric department and pick out a lovely sparklie tuille or organza or even netting and once you've packaged your pretzels in plastic wrap, wrap up in the fabric and use flexible ribbon to tie it up in a large bow.

If you want to use your box, you can wrap that up in fabric, use stamps to cover and add a big fabric bow, apply stickers, glitter, even glue on moss and add a fake floral piece to the top!

Wrap the entire box in cream colored tuelle (it's very very cheap)... Then get some "ting ting" (the glitter covered tall sticks) at your local craft store and some cinnamon sticks and wire them at the top (instead of a bow).... leave the two ends of the wire pretty long and curl them into ringlets that stick out... put a tiny ornament on the end of each.

Get a cute christmas coffee cup and stick tissue in it then stick the pretzels in there and it looks so cute. If you are using a box then get wrapping paper and wrap it and stick tissue in it and bows

I tend to wrap odd-shaped items in tissue paper (straight white or a xmas print or color--all work) and then twist the ends like a large bon-bon (candy) then secure with ribbon--the curly kind is best.

Also I like to use colored tissue paper to wrap, then use a pretty sheer fabric that coordinates with the tissue paper to wrap over the tissue and use really pretty ribbon to secure or have used the sheer fabric to tie a knot and tape the ends down so they look pretty.....I did this with gold tissue and burgundy sheers one time and it looked 'tres magnifique'.

Decorate the box with your supplies, or with glitter or some other stuff. Make it look like you just had them shipped in from someplace fancy.

individually, i could purchase a variety of little sparkling plastic luggage they sell, that are pre-published with Christmas designs. Then only tie it with surprisingly colored curling ribbon, and you're performed!

Do yourself a favor....just eat the pretzels and give them some rubberbands or something.....Face it...they won't remember what you gave them in a couple of months.
