My boyfriend told me that originally, Santa Clause was always in a green outfit, until he was used on coca cola cans, which made his clothes have to be red. Is this true? Was santa originally in green clothes?

A girl in my class has been my friend for two years. She's always been touchy-feely and not afraid to act gay. I want to be closer to her, touch her and be with her. Problem.

Here's the problem, in a few simple words, she scares me. I boiled in a pot of guilt for most of my summer over a small incident, so I always imagined her shunning me. When I saw her again she was totally accepting and nice. Besides this, she still holds a charisma that pushes me into submission.

I am not a shy person around a few select friends, but around my family or other people I'm tongue-tied. Especially around her I cannot speak, make eye contact, or help but stutter over my own words.

Here's my question: I really want to be closer to her, but I can't get past my confusion. I want to tell her how I feel but she's shown me she's afraid of other girls truly liking her, and not just pretending. I'm a little shaky with how I look, so I don't know if she likes me back. Should I act on my feelings?

If you don't drink alcohol, don't eat the wrong foods, take regular excercise, etc, you could live to be 90+ years.

but if you did do all those things you could only live to be 50-60 but would have had more enjoyment.

Our neighbor is spreading horrible untrue things around about my husband and I around our neighborhood. The people who know us know that it's not true, but I feel as though I should write them some type of a small letter asking them to please stop slandering us, we have done nothing to them but live next door. (They have not liked us since we moved in 3 years ago. They walked over to our house the day we moved in..and instead of a welcome, they said, " If you are going to live here you'd better be sure to keep this lawn mowed and that hedge trimmed.") The recent "story" going around about us us so atrocious that I thought about making a police report but I don't know if that's going too far or I should just right the letter first and see what happens.

There's a movie on http://www.911weknow.com that completely blew my mind! I actually studied "conspiracy theorists" and people that thought they were abducted by aliens in psychology. Usually they have certain (similar) psychological proclivities (i wouldn't say "problems" - they just have certain needs) so i never believe these people... but ... if you watch the movie... i can't explain this stuff at all.

I want to get into med school and am looking for a great opportunity to do humanitarian work abroad. I really want to do it in the Philippines or other third world countries in Asia. I wanted to go to Africa, but it seems like all the celebrities got that taken care of. Should I study abroad and volunteer at the same time? I always wanted to join the Peace Corps after college, but since med school takes a long time I don't think I will.

My friend got angry at me because I kept smiling at guys (if she paid more attention i smiled at everyone) when we were out drinking. It wasnt even a big smile, no teeth and i didn't wink or anything. I smile because i'm polite if someone looks at me what should i do, just frown at them.

Do you think smiling is an invitation for conversation, or just being polite!??? If someone smiles at you do you take it as... come and talk?

why do you try to disprove the existence of god?

why do you think that religon is harmful when it clearly isn't?

please don't bring up the roman catholics trying to stop stem-cell research. that was the fault of the pope, not the fault of religous people everywhere.

and don't bring up the middle-eastern war. that was just a few middle-eastern politicians using religion as an excuse to start a couple of wars. it was politics, not religion.

Ok, I'm a Druid and stand proud and firm behind my Pagan beliefs. But my father is a die-hard Lutheran. His church is experiencing financial problems and are seeking helpers for a fund raiser they are having later this month. They have the only WELS church in the area and even though I am a Druid, I don't want to see them loose their place of worship. It'd be like someone taking out all the trees in a Druid's grove. Part of me wants to help with the fund raiser so they can keep their building, but another part of me wants to just sit back and let them fail. Would it be religiously ethical of me to help them, given the difference in faiths, or would it be better to just keep out of their way? Maybe you can help me decide on what to do.

My thought is that he first has to wait for the little hunk of flesh on the beach to turn into a man. Once that happens, he has to wait until the man developes enough intelligence to discover he is in the dark and needs light. Then the man has to learn enough to discover electricity, then he can start developing things to work off the electric, after he monoplizes the electric source. Finally he will be able to reach up and change that bulb that burned out in about 6 months.

Given all the above, I am estimating about 229.465 million years. What did you come up with?
