If you don't drink alcohol, don't eat the wrong foods, take regular excercise, etc, you could live to be 90+ years.

but if you did do all those things you could only live to be 50-60 but would have had more enjoyment.

which is the better way to live?

A life lived in moderation is always enjoyable. a lot of drinking, junk food, lethargy etc still is bad for anyone. 50 or 60 yrs of such a life actually wont be so enjoyable because there will be a high risk of health problems throughout this kind of life. who will have the time to enjoy when one is always going back and forth to hospitals?

an active life is always enjoyble. drink little, go easy on the junk food but do exercise regularly.

I don't think that your examples make for a particularly enjoyable life anyway. So I would opt to be 90+

But I think it is better to have an enjoyable life, which may be shorter, rather than extending life just for the sake of it

for me, its about enjoying life to the fullest and as you possibly can. i do not think about life after my death. i am still relatively young at 25; thus, i don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, i exercise and i eat a balanced diet. yes that's important physically, but its also about being mentally and emotionally well and if you don't feel good about yourself, then you won't be able to see life and approach it in the right frame of mind. we only get one life and thus it is vital that we make the most out of this opportunity. i try not to think about dying- i don't think about that and i don't want to think about it because i find it depressing and plus i want to focus on the positive and the present, rather than to look forward to the future because the future is some way off.

I think enjoyment of life would be better. Live for today and make every min. count. Dont deprive yourself of anything that gives you pleasure be it food, drink or sex, etc. Live for the moment.Let tomorrow take care of itself .If you never get to experience life's pleasure you dont know what you are missing. Take it one day at a time.If it gets bad just say to yourself "this too shall pass"!

the enjoyment of life.
i, personally don't want my life to extend to a point where i become dependent on my wife/son or some nursing home to keep me going. the older i become the more i risk witnessing the death of friends and family members who are very important to me.
therefore, it's better to live my current life to the fullest; enjoy my family and friends before it's too late.

Do you want to die young, ugly and in pain? The enjoyments of life come through treating yourself with respect. However I don't agree with prolonging life if you're suffering and are dying anyway!

There is only one true way to live your life. That is a life through Jesus Christ. No one says you have to live a physically healthy life, just a spiritually healthy life. Everything else is just a bonus. Life is too short to worry about the small things. Look ahead to see what may come.
