There is something bothering me. Where is the term "holy war" comming from? re. wikipedia: in non-specilist contest, the term "holy" is used in more gerneral way, to refer to some one or something that is associated with divine power.

For my understanding "holy" means something good or something special regarding god. how can "holy" be used in connection with war = killing? Why churches don't say anything about it? I see in people's gardens the 10 commitment, where it says: you should not kill. but on the other hand they are proud of their soldier killing other people?
Please give me some help to understand. sorry for my spelling mistakes, but english is not my mother language.

Do American people like English people in general or not. Do American people like English people because of them being close allies in the Iraq war or does this make no difference.

Do I say, "Juan le gusta el cuento de Caperucita Roja" or
"A Juan le gusta el cuento de Caperucita Roja" or something else?
Sorry my Spanish is rusty. Native speakers and Spanish students appreciated for this. I am trying to remember if it's "Juan le gusta" or "A Juan le gusta" since I'm not sure if the "a" gives it emphasis.

What is the symbolism of a lion in Christianity? I never noticed it until watching "The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe," and then it was also mentioned in a song "When I get where I'm going" about heaven, and the artist running this hand through a lion's mane. I'm baffled. Thanks!

If they come to the discussion table with prejudices and preconceived notions? I see a lot of that here. I'm just curious because it should be the active driving force in all of us to at least try to understand and accept our neighbor. We are all human. The rut we are all in can change in an instant, and coming together will be imperitave. How can you come together when you are as you are? What is right, and what is wrong? Please, define it. Tell us where you got the basis for the definition.

I am in my 50's and I live in a one bedroom apartment with my hubby. I asked him why and he says they are lazy or drunk. I have alot of windows in my apartment, even over my kitchen sink. If you call the police on them they would be gone before the cops got to the property. What really gets to me is some of them that do it live here. I know that this has been going on forever, but it seems to me it is a growing habit. I see more of it now adays than when I was younger. I think the new generation has been brought up with no manners. I would of never liked of been brought up in the 80's or 90's, no one has respect anymore. No, I do not stand at my window all the time and look out, but I do like to look outside, and to have my curtains open as I live on the top floor. Respect for other people has gone down the all american drain into the sewer. Welcome to the the new stupid generation, and to the guys that would rather pee behind a dumpster than walk to a bathroom.

It would be the first time in human history that a racial group voluntarily declined in numbers.

Can Whites then say to Blacks "you're a majority, whats your excuse now?

Does minority status for Whites simply make Whites a rich minority and Blacks the poor majority as in the old south?

Are Blacks better off with a White Majority in power which feels sorry for them?

Would Blacks be worse off with a Black president who tells them to grow up?

Spray painted tags cover the concrete and benches, beer cans and bottles are littered around, while the smoke of some pungent herb is permanent.
