People are just too uptight. Maybe you should make "I fart and I"m proud" bumper stickers and sell them.

the smell can be offensive qand thats whats embarrasing, that and the sound (giggle). Quite frankly I think its rude when my husband lets em rip while sitting on the couch, in bed or in the truck... I know its something everyone does, but I try to be discrete, even arolund my own family. everybody poops too... but you dont see bathrooms set up in common areas. Somethings are just best left as personal and not ment to be shared.

i believe it is because we have grown this idea that if it doesn't smell good it is pleasant. as we all 99% of farts don't smell good at all. the other 1 really doesn't carry a smell to it. so if if isn't smelling good it isn't right. so if some farts it is embarasing to have something that smells bad come from your own body. but i am with you we all do it so it is ok. I personally respect a woman more if she does around me. but if she pushes it out and sounds like me........

Personally I think its the smell factor. And part noise factor. First of all the noise for some reason is funny. Now the smell on the other hand well, no one wants to be around a stinky person.

Cat and dog farts are the WORST. It must be that canned crap we feed them And they creep out without any warning, not even a sound. One minute you're happily watching TV with a cat on your lap, and the next minute you're running for the hills.

It's called vanity. Farting stinks, and everyone knows it. And nobody wants to be associated with it, despite the fact that everyone does it. That's the basic reasoning. ;)

who knows, it probably started Europe, back in the day. europeans are a bunch of pansies.

i bet it was something like this, a queen or king or some other royal pain in the a** thinkds they're so high and mighty was eating a roast phesant. one of the servants happened to eat something that disagreed with him, and passed a bit o' gas.

the queen, smelling the flatulence, puked up her roast whatchamacallit, and had the guy beheaded for farting.

so, now when we feel a natural reaction coming on, instead of letting it out, we hold it in, causing all sorts of medical problems.

I'm not risking colon cancer because some b*tch dosnt like my brand of wind, so I let it ride where ever and when ever i need to.

Yes, it's human, but do you really want to be right next to it? The polite thing to do is leave the area when you know you need to "pass the gas station" (as my son likes to say).

The big deal is not the passing of gas, but the odours that some spread when doing so.
