She does not collect anything particular, she is in her early 50's, a christian, and I do not want to spend to much, but do not want to appear cheap, and I want the gift to say that I am thoughtful(even though, I really am not, LOL!)

At Hallmark, AND at Cracker Barrell, they have these nice bracelets, that say mother, or grandmother, and others also, that are really pretty with beads and crystals. I already gave one to my mom for her Birthday, and she loved it. My sister just saw it, and got one for her Mother in law, its perfect! It says something, and has words on it also, its beautiful. Only 9.99, but looks a lot more.

Go the a christian store and get her a bible with her name engraved on it or the family name. And then write a little well wish in the front or inside.

I got my ex- mother in law (we're still freinds) a chenille (sp?)
sweater. Her fave color is mauve. I think it only cost me around $20.00 ......

If you know her fave color ... buy her a warm, comfy sweater or pj's.
