Everyone develops their own preferences over the years. We moved from Oregon a few years ago to Ohio. In Oregon it was a lot easier to get a "Noble" fir tree. They're usually symmetrically sound and have a classic look. The branches are more spread out to enable you to fit all your favorite ornaments on the tree, and the needles are close and point upwards. Since moving to Ohio we usually can't get that species so we settle for Frazier Fir or Canaan Fir. We still prefer Firs over the different Pines because they are more open.

all I can say is a real one...there's absolutely nothing like a real evergreen Christmas tree in the house/apartment/whatever during the holidays. To me, the idea of a fake tree causes part of the real christmas meaning/spirit/tradition go away.

I treated myself to a new remote controlled pre-lit tree this year. I can go with all white lights, all colored lights or both. The Grand kids love it!! It was easy to set up for me too. Three pieces which unfold like an umbrella. Lights are on and ready to go, no pine needles, looks real and it's beautiful!!

Yes, artifical are great. They do not set on fire easily like natural trees do. And they do not prick you a bunch. And they last longer, so you save money in the long run. You also do not end up with a bunch of little pine needles on the floor!

A fake prelite tree with white lights! The needles don't fall off and you don't have to bother with the stupid lights! 2 great reasons to go fake!

Artificial Theyre better for the environment and can be used for a long time year after year so cheaper too...
