Thinking of you during these holidays and hoping that you will be okay. Our prayers are with you during your time of need and if you need a friend to talk to you know you have me. I wish you the best in your upcoming years and hope that your memories will help you through it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I would not combine the two cards into one.
Perhaps you could create a sympathy card with a positive conclusion and in it extend how grateful you are to your boss for raising a child brave enough to face battle.
This is a really tough one. Good luck.

Remember something. Its a christmas card not a letter of condolences. Dont put condolences on a christmas card and dont put christmas greetings on a condolence card. Use common sense and not emotions. If not he might not be your boss after christmas.

Send a sympathy card, and it it, you can write something like:

I wish you peace this holiday season.

need to send or give two different cards. these are two different occasions one sad - the other glad. under these circumstances they should not be combined.
