Will she be born of a Virgin?

2006-12-01 01:33:45 · 19 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

Okay, I've got some great answers to my first question about menstraul blood being unclean which explained a lot (from a hygiene perspective it does make sense).

So now, understanding why the Bible (and many other faiths) said it was unclean THEN, why, when we know how the biological process works, do some people in some faiths (I'm not going to say ALL Christians, Muslims, Jews or what-have you) STILL consider menstruation "unclean"? I can understand it when people didn't take regular baths, there was limited sanitation for well water, etc., and no one understood biologically where it came from, but now that we know how the menstrual cycle works and know that menstrual blood (and the uterine lining contained therein) is designed to sustain life, and have better sanitation (pads, tampons) to deal with the "messy" aspect of it, why do some people STILL consider it unclean? I've seen posts from others in here that specifically use the word "unclean". Why use that nowadays? Thnx!

I just read about a Christian group trying to "take back our rainbow" from LGBT groups. After all, the rainbow is said to be a symbol of God's promise not to flood out the Earth again.

This is their reasoning:

And some of their merchandise:

What do y'all think?

'you should have only one gods and that is he' "thou shall not suffer a witch' Nice little things people have said to witchs. But what about , love your nabor, respect others. Here I thought christians to be loving nice people untill I came out and said that I am a christian witch. Is this posable? I worship God and God alone, tho I dont abandon my wiccan dities (please forgive spellings). I do not worship them but give them thanks. I hold nature close to my heart and love others despite there crule ways of making 'fun' of my bel;ifes. I tho am asking your opinion. Im doing a report for school 'can you be a cristian and a witch' I will ask you to be honest and not 'nice' say what you feel. I also ask that I may quote you for my report. It wont be posted any where like a newspapper but I would still like to voice the situaion here. (despite I may have highschool kids starting at me for saying I AM A CHRISTIAN WITCH!) p.s. thnak you

Hey, I still have a bad cold and can't stay home. I have to go to my job at the mall today (fortunately I work retail and not in the food court!) I have been sneezing a lot and I don't want to make people uncomfortable around me. I can't hold my sneezes in, it hurts my head. Is there a more polite way to sneeze so that I don't upset people around me?

I was cut as an infant and I would like to restore my foreskin. There are several ways to do this, surgically (out of the question) with weights (sounds painful) and manually.
Has anyone done it and is it worth it?

I hear the two terms and am wondering if they are the same thing, just different termonlogy, or if they are actually two different faiths.

I had two Jehovah's Witness' come to my door. I invited them in to discuss religion, and since they were there to proselytize to me, I felt it my right to show them where the Bible contradicted itself. I asked them why any of the dogma of their religion mattered when Christ gave two simple commandments, two commandments that none seem capable of adhering to. After two or so hours they left, one of which was obviously shaken. Is it moral to shake someones faith in this fashion? (not religiously moral, but rather ethically moral) I have mixed feelings on this one and would like some other opinions.

I have a cold and I am pretty self-conscious about my sneeze. It is pretty loud and not-very feminine - kinda like hu-hu-HASCHOO! I get embarrassed because it seems like most girls have a more petite sneeze. Does anybody else sneeze really loud and what can I do to be more quiet when I sneeze?
