Look around people its the 1st december and we are already into full christmas mode, has been for the last week. Is it not wrong to expose our youth to the blatant commercialism of life nowadays.

every movie has spin off toys, shops jump from one festive occasion to the next, Tv ads tell you to get their products instead of just showing you them.

Is it just me or have things gotten a little bit to commercial now? These celebrations cant even be religious now for fear of offending some other ethnic group, instead it belongs to shops who advertise all these things we have to buy or else our lives will be terrible!

So i ask again should we bombard our youth with all this stuff that cant have traditional backing?

I have just came out of a long term serious relationship with my (same sex) partner. After much crying I have found myself back on the scene again. However, most women dont even think I am gay, my whole look, everything about me screams straight person. I know its a horrible cliche but I wear high heels and dresses and have long hair, and just get ignored, girls are always telling me i look way to girly, its starting to make me think they are right. I love punky different looking people as partners. I once asked my friends why the people I am attracted to never look twice at me and they answered with brutal honestly that I need to 'dyke it up'. Im so scared of changing the way I look to something completely different incase it doesnt suit my personality, but I cannot carry on going un noticed by everyone im attracted to. What should I do?

A person I have dealt with, and paid money to, for services relating to water damages in a basement, calls himself a Christian. We had conversation about things relating to Christian issues while he was doing the job. When it came time to pay him, I wrote the check, ( he overcharged, too, and I'm talking about a lot of money) and he said he would send me a receipt ( income tax purposes; damage to property) It's been 6 weeks, and altho I have asked him on several occassions, he says he'll send it, but never does. I'm sure he doesn't want to claim this on his income tax!
( I need to,claim this, therefore I need the receipt)
My question is, do you feel he is being dishonest?
If he was a Christian, would he say he'd give a receipt, but live up to his word?
Is he "avoiding" paying tax on this income, and how Christian is that?
In all honesty, I trusted him completely, feeling I was dealing with a "Christian"...I guess I should have been a bit wiser, huh?

It seems to me the Goddess, if we are to attempt to be monotheists, simply does not substitute in for the God. It suggests the very concept of gender, which implies something dualist, not monotheist. Don't we necessarily need both God and Goddess at a minimum, if gender is a factor at the very top? Or is a monotheist's God not male, but above the very idea of gender?

P.S. Gave up on monotheism myself years ago, but I applaud the effort in those who can make it work. It works only in abstraction for me. (B.A. in Philosophy, U. of Michigan, 1974.)

Islam really is a peaceful religion. Yes there are extermists bombing everywhere but Muslims are not like that. Don't associate Osama Bin Laden with Muslims because to us, he is no Muslim and never will be. I am not trying to promote Islam. It is your choice to accept it or shun it. I just want to speak the truth because I'm sick and tired of people insulting Islam when they don't even know anything about it. Thank you.

I was beginning to get addicted to ambien the sleep aid, and one morning in the back of my head a voice said get the pills and flush them now! so i did right away and i told my doctor not to give them to me anymore because of the effects ambein caused, was that God or my spirit guide because thta medication was very addictive to me, i am very sensative when it comes to meds.
