I say a 'qualified' no.

Hopefully with age one acquires a sense of discernment and therefore an inherent ability to separate more of the facts from fiction and to cultivate self awareness and be less likely to follow the herd ... just because it may seem fashionable or popular for the moment.

Influence is a power to affect persons or events especially power based on prestige etc. The resilient young become the wise old when surely influence becomes less of an issue and self reliance in decisions becomes more prevalent as we mature.
