Why do people grow to be so arrogant that they forget they are human?

I'm very arrogant but I never forget I'm human. The real question is: why are some people so arrogant they forget humans are animals?

I'm human??? :) kidding! I don't know, but I do seem to come across allot of people who think the world revolves around them. I think if you take a closer look though, they aren't' all that happy. Ironic really!
