'you should have only one gods and that is he' "thou shall not suffer a witch' Nice little things people have said to witchs. But what about , love your nabor, respect others. Here I thought christians to be loving nice people untill I came out and said that I am a christian witch. Is this posable? I worship God and God alone, tho I dont abandon my wiccan dities (please forgive spellings). I do not worship them but give them thanks. I hold nature close to my heart and love others despite there crule ways of making 'fun' of my bel;ifes. I tho am asking your opinion. Im doing a report for school 'can you be a cristian and a witch' I will ask you to be honest and not 'nice' say what you feel. I also ask that I may quote you for my report. It wont be posted any where like a newspapper but I would still like to voice the situaion here. (despite I may have highschool kids starting at me for saying I AM A CHRISTIAN WITCH!) p.s. thnak you

There are many things to take into conderation. One, religions are constantly changin and merging into something different all the time. Alot of Christians holidays have replaced the pagan ones. That was done by a bunch of men sitting in a room trying to figure out how to phase out the wiccans.
you can be a christian witch. You can believe in God. And that his Son came to us, and died for our sins. (that is the only thing required to be christian.) But remember people. God created the earth and everything on it. There is a magic to this planet. It's only natural to celebrate and partake in that beauty. Which is really what pagans, or witches. do. They are worshiping Satan (which is another invention of the old men sitting in a room). God loves everyone. We wants a relationsship with everyone. And he does whatever it takes to get it.
Also, to those quoting from the Old Testament. As wonderful as those books are. And i have read all of them. Alot of things have been changed by the coming of Jesus. You dont see any Christians sacrificing lambs or other animals. The followers in the Old Testament did. Everything changed when the Son of God became the Son of man so that all men could become sons of God.
Another thought on the subject. Reread the story of Jesus's birth, and get a little history lesson. The Magi were magicians, witches. He didnt turn them away. He loved them. And he helped them.

As far as I know Christianity and Wicca have many of the same teachings right? The difference between "love thy neighbor" and the rule of three is really just a matter of wording...If you live by the teachings of Christianity you can be a Wiccan at the same time...however, according to a Wiccan friend of mine WITCHES have actual power, whereas being Wiccan is the religion.

The biggest problem I've found with Wicca and many of the other "Pagan" religions (i.e. Druidism or Voodoo) is that so many people get sucked into the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" versions, where they're expecting communication with demons and the cinamatically impressive wielding of amazing powers. Therefore the "evil" side of the religion. However RELIGION cannot be evil...its an idea. It is the PEOPLE who make it "good" or "evil". How many people think the Catholic religion is "evil" after learning of their practice of moving pedophiles to different parishes? Do they think it evil after the hundreds of books, movies and TV shows where the ultimate bad guy turns out to be some weird secret sect of the Catholic church?

As for the kids acting all weird at your school, people automatically need to mock what they don't understand. What they think they know about Wicca and what they think they know about Christianity are so different that they cannot see HOW anyone could be both...its not hard. People need to stop blindly believing what the neighborhood priest is preaching...stop thinking that what they see on TV is real...you have to explore the world of religion on your own and than decide who and what you want to be...Good Luck to you honey...and Blessed Be....

If you see the section on White Witchcraft (starting on p. 54) in the sourced book, you will find that the answer is a resounding yes.

Or, perhaps this quote from Gerald Gardner, founder of Wicca, would be helpful:

"I can see no real reason why one cannot be a good enough though unorthodox Christian and a witch at the same time. It seems to me easier than being a Christian and a Communist."

Girl, you've already asked this, and then get upset if people don't pat you on the back and say, "Oh, yes, be both." Well, I'm no back-patter. I don't think it's possible to be two religions. (If it makes you feel better, I'm even wary of the Jews for Jesus, since I don't think you can be Jewish and Christian). You are serving two masters who don't agree with each other. You are lying to yourself. You say you worship God, but then you go off and do your wiccan things. In case you missed it in the Bible, it says "Do not worship any Gods besides me". It's like being married and having an affair. You're cheating on religion with the other. Quote what you want for your report. You want people to agree so you can give a positive report. I'm against it. Choose a side and stop riding the fence.

I don't see why not, but most religions forget themselves and judge as evil or ungodly what they do not understand. I believe that most christians missed the point of christianity and have committed many astrocities in the name of christ. Wiccan is a beautiful practice that embraces god's creation as a whole and therefore cannot be against god. Unfortunately, most christians are not open minded enough to understand this, (I was raised catholic, so I'm not really bashing christianity. It just saddens me that orthodox faiths are so unkind and restrictive.)

It should be possible to be a christian witch, but perhaps the world is not quite ready for that yet. Just imagine the eutopia that would exist if both loving principles would embrase each other and the world. There would be respect for each other and our environment and perhaps then we wouldn't be slowly wiping ourselves out.

Keep the faith. Christian? Wiccan? Does it really matter. Just live a godly life.

Being a christian is about having a changed heart, mind and soul to Be like Jesus.

But Jesus said... 1 John 3:24
24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The New King James Version, (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers) 1998, c1982.

If YOU follow His Commands then you would believe and do what the Bible says, turn form your sin and follw Jesus only.

A "deity" is a god<<< see the lower case, not THE God .

a god is an idol, something worth nothing.

But GOD! is different

Isaiah 44:6-8
6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel,
And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
‘I am the First and I am the Last;
Besides Me there is no God.
7 And who can proclaim as I do?
Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me,
Since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come,
Let them show these to them.
8 Do not fear, nor be afraid;
Have I not told you from that time, and declared it?
You are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me?
Indeed there is no other Rock;
I know not one.’ ”

The New King James Version, (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers) 1998, c1982.

There is No other GOD.

Actually, no. Wicca and Christianity are two different religions. Their beliefs contradict one another.

Wiccans believe in both a God and a Goddess, and they worship nature. Christians believe in one God, No Goddess, and one Son. Wiccans practice magic as a form of ceremony and use it in everyday life, but Christians abhor and denounce magic as "evil".

You can beleive in a God and a Goddess, and be a Wiccan. But you can't beleive in the Christian God, father of Jesus, because that is a whole other religion. It would be like mixing Buddha with Judeism.

My advice is to feel which one is right for you. If you feel more comfortable with Wicca, then give yourself to that religion. Learn about the holidays, ceremonies, and teachings of Pagan deities But if you want to beleive in the Christian God, and the teachings of the Bible, then you will learn that Wicca is looked down upon by much of that religion.

no a christian cannot be a witch also.a witch is a person that is in the Pagan and Wicca religion.and for christians,they are only christians in the christianity religion.the fact that ppl think that they can be a witch and also be a christian,that is just so they can still worship their christian god and serve for the Wicca God and Goddess.there's no way that a christian can do this.there is no way that there is a christian witch.that doesnt even sound right!i'm a Witch and follow the Wicca tradition and i have never heard of ppl saying that they are christian witch.there's no such thing!
blessed be,

No. By definition a christian believes in one God and Jesus as the messiah and savior. I have not seen any, and I know and love many, witches that do not believe in many gods and goddesses. Giving any other diety thanks is worship of a sort. You should simply be proud of your religion whatever it is and not be afraid to embrace it in full without trying to fit in with the rest of society. You cannot serve two masters. In other words you cannot say that you thank multiple dieties AND God and still be serious about either one. It sounds like you want to be accepted by a larger number of people and have tried to mainstream or join witches with God. They do not go together. Nothing is wrong with having your own faith, simply be strong enough to jump in with both feet and do not worry about what Christians think about it. Your opinion is your own and should be respected as such. Anyone who judges you without understanding what your faith actually encompasses is not worthy of your concern anyway as there is much more to a person than their personal opinion about religion. I hope this helps.

no christian and wicca beliefs are different. a lot of christians are ignorant to what the wiccan beliefs are (i.e. most christians think that in wicca they worship the devil but in reality they don't believe in the devil) being that witches don't believe in hell and they also worship nature i don't see how they could be christian since christians do believe in hell and the devil and believe in only worshiping God the father. and to a christian if you practice other religions it's wronging the Father then i would have to say no you can't be both. can you practice both? i would say obviously you can but whether it's right or wrong? it's wrong. (not saying you have to be a christian just that i think it's wrong to practice beliefs from two different religions)
