Last year, the Christians had to keep quiet during Christmas so not offend other religious groups. Has anyone asked which group were offended? Does it matter what religious foundations Target and Wal-Mart have, as long as they have 56" flat screens for $48 for 5am-11am the day after Thanksgiving, does it REALLY MATTER?

When you are asleep at night, passed the REM (rapid eye movement) time and you are no longer dreaming as your brain is now resting and recouperating... At this time you have no conscious knowledge of self... you are not aware of your surroundings or anything... nothing... Is this the closest you get to death without dying... In reality is this how it is and how it feels at the end of your life?

i live in a developing country that has been in an incessant civil war. Due to the goverment's priorities being focused on the war, the state of poverty has begun to increase. From what i see, i see that there are more old and frail people on the roads and it aches me to see them because they are obviously too weak to care for themselves.
whenever possible i buy them some food or give them some money. i have realised that due to inflation it is pretty useless giving them spare change, so i give them a considerable amount in order to buy atleast one meal.
I just don't understand how people have become so selfish and materialistic that they don't realise that there are so many poor people suffering. People waste so much of money on useless things and i must say i too am not a saint. i come from a very well off family but my parents have taught me to care for the less fortunate as well.
what can we do? what can YOU do? please, let's try and make a difference

How can some guys be in a relationship with a girl and tell them they are in love with them but have the tendency to want to still be a player? This not personal open ended question. I know men that are in their late thirties and fourties that do this. Do men ever outgrow the player stage?

I think religion has four components
1. Belief in God or holding up a vision about the creation, maintenance, or destruction of the universe. Belief in God can either be monotheistic or polytheistic.
2.rituals and customs
3. myths by which the philosophy of a religion unfolded
4. Organisations

religions can chiefly be divided into two groups
abrahamic religions and dharmic religions. if any other please mention it in answer.
I am also interested in the history and evolution of religions. I see many religions were liberation movements in the begining. Later they were hijacked by the ruling class of the days. Most probably by the feudals, the example of which can be illustrated by the case of Christians during the days of King Constantine. The case is the same when Emperor Ashoka embraced the dharmic religion of Buddhist path. Likewise many rulers of East embraced islam after which the liberative nature of the religion lost. this can be seen as the institutionalisation

Yesterday me my cousin and her boyfriend (who is black) took the train downtown. I sat a few seats from them while my cousin and her boyfriend sat together talking. People on the train were looking at them and getting mad, some were even mumbling insults. I mean why.

I asked a question about Oprah earlier and just got a bunch of non awnsers, just insults telling me off for hateing on Oprah. The question wasnt about how much she gives, it was really about the fact that she has such an excess of wealth that could be helping others a lot more. Ted Turner gave one third of his wealth to the united nations, he still had 2 billion dollars for himself, so its not like its hard to give huge sums away when you have huge sums left. So why do so many say she worked hard etc and deserves it etc. Coal miners work hard and so do nurses, come on be real. The question was about those with extreme wealth because they have the power to really change the world. Dont you think they should if they can?

Can Anyone offer proof outside of religious text that Jesus even existed?
Can we prove from a historical stand point if this guy even lived or is it all a manner of chasing pink elephants?

NOTE: Josephus was born Joseph ben Mattathias in Jerusalem in 37 CE, This Jesus figure died around 32 CE which means he can't offer anything but man made crap!

There were 30 senior students soon to graduate. They were all at the office tour of KPMG, a CPA Firm who was going to conduct interviews of the 30 students. Part of the interview process was to see how each of the 30 students interacted wth each other during a 10 minute break. There were 25 whites, 3 asians, 2 hispanics. The cliche was there, as you can see in University lunch rooms where people are segregated by "color" I, being chinese "initiated" to meet the other candidates (white), but never was the case where, a white person, came up to me, to meet me voluntarily for no other purpose than to socialize. This I notice throughout my life, whitie will not come up just to socialize, but only if you can offer them something! When USA government wants its citizens to intergrate, only color people are doing the work to "mix", whitie just stand there trying to fend off the mixing.
