I honestly tried it once. I attended a Hanukkah celebration in order to learn the traditions. I was totally open minded, not even discussing my beliefs in Jesus. The Jews who found out I was a Christian were offended that I was there. It made me feel bad. I really wanted to learn about it.

He didn't celebrate Hanukkah, but yes I would and I do honor Pesach (My 2nd favorite holiday of the year only after Christmas!), and I have in the past celebrated Sukkot, Shavuot, and Yom Kippur. Very BEAUTIFUL and meaningful celebrations!

Didn't Hanukkah and the Macabbees come along well after Jesus, toward the end of the 2nd temple?

I do. With my Jewish relatives. It's a festival celebrated in honor (not "honer") of a miracle of God. Why shouldn't I?

Praise be to God! Let everything that hath breath...praise the Lord!

possibly

when Jesus said "I am the light of the world" in John
He was celebratign Hannakah

its up to the Christian... since Christianity owes much to a Jewish heritage in manay ways I think some Chrsitians might celebrate Jewish HOlidays... not as a requirement but as an enrichmment of faith

Wow, I can hardly wait to read the ignorant reponses from people who don't know that Jesus was a Jew.

I don't know of a whole lot of Christians who would do this, but I think it would be very good if more did.

Why not?

How is it done? Does it require spending a lot of money like Christian holidays do?

No. Any holiday based on a fuel shortage is silly. And may I say the more I see of this Jer guy the more I like him.
