How much did your upbringing influence the beliefs you currently hold in regard to religion/spirituality? Do you think you have come to your own conclusions or only accepted what you've been taught? I'm not looking to criticize anyone- I just want to hear what people have to say. Thanks.

I just finished reading lyrics by Tupac. I know he is quite revered by his fans. I do want to ask though, since in one of his songs he dis's Martin Luther King (who followed Gandhi's philosophy); which method has done the most to improve civil rights in America? Non-violence or violence?

I like fairies better... probably because Tinker Bell is more "reasonably in-perfect human" than "perfectly and sweet" Ariel. But I can't decide...

I am a Christian but lately I have been questioning my faith. But when I go to church or read the Bible I feel so warm and good inside. But I always question everything, especially when bad things happen or when atheists say things on here that kinda make sense. Is it bad to question things? What can I do to overcome this?

I'm Indian & know a lot of people who still practice marriage arrangements. Personally, I don't get it and can't see how you can meet someone one day & marry them the next. It seems odd and very superficial. I know a lot of the men hate their wives & vice versa. Why is this so appealing & why hasn't the tradition died out yet?

A co-worker is an independent consultant for a candle company and pressured me into hosting a party to sell candles. I really don't want to do it, but I agreed to it because I don't know how to say 'no' to people. How can I get out of hosting it without being really rude?

First let me say I'm sorry for asking these questions. I have just started going back to church and I am curious about a few things. Why do people have to pay to get married other than the government getting pocket change? Wouldn't it be more realistic to be able to get married for free but then pay an enormous amount if you want to get divorced? I want to get married but I can't afford it. When God spoke of marriage, was he thinking that people should have to pay for it? I'm not talking about most of the things that go into a wedding, I'm talking about having to pay out $50 just to get a marriage lisence.
