Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. You need to find a church that is serious about its bible teaching and get into bible study. As we move into the end times, there is a danger of being led astray by false teaching and of course, by those who would tell you not to believe the bible. At this point in time, you are in a serious place. There is nothing wrong with questioning....what is important is to find the accurate and true answers. More than ever before, we need to know God's word and be able to stand on it.

I think it's perfectly acceptable to question your beliefs and, at the same time, modify your beliefs as your beliefs change. Most of all, you have to do what is right for you. You probably don't want to put on blinders and act like the doubt isn't there, because then it festers. Explore the doubt. Why do things atheists say make sense? For example - let's say you think evolution sounds more plausible than creation - there are a lot of Christians who are still Christian and believe in evolution. There are a lot of Christians who don't take bible interpretation literally. There are some that aren't as strict. So maybe you're worried you'll end up losing your faith, but maybe in the long run what you'll really have is a personal belief system that brings you closer to the God of your understanding. That's something that no church and no book can provide on its own. There's nothing wrong with that.

Its never bad to question things, you can still have faith and have questions. In James 1:5 in the bible, it says, "If any man lacketh wisdom, let him ASK of God, who giveth to all men and abraideth not." The Lord wants us to ask questions, its what helps us to understand and study and seek to know more. Is it wrong that someone question's the source of their information? Absoulutly not, its wonderful, that way you know what the sources are and you know if their truth or not. You feel warm and good inside when you read the bible and go to church because that is what the Lord wants us to do, and he gives us his Spirit which will guide us to the truth. A great man once said, "All men seek the truth, only the know not where to find it." and that's why most people don't reach the truth. Sure, the bible has errors, the bible has been translated many times by wonderful people who have tried to make it as perfect as possible, but alas, they are mere imperfect men who will always have flaws. The only way to overcome your constant questioning is to study more and always to pray and ask the Lord if what your studying is the truth or not.

Bad things are always going to happen unfortunately. It is in people's nature to question why bad things happen and why God lets it happen. God gave us will power so we can make mistakes and learn from them. That is why life is called a "journey." Everybody at one point or another questions their faith, and that is just another test God gives us. If you are going through some hard times right now, just pray and believe that God is always there with you even though you may not believe so at the time. I believe that people can believe in anything they want to, but I feel really sorry for Atheists, only because God is such a gift to the world. God is something people can believe in and trust. God is like a best friend, your mom, your dad, and the rest of your family all rolled into one. God is someone that you can trust, and talk to, and you just have to remember that God is understanding and forgiving. You shouldn't feel bad to question things, that's one of God's gifts to us.

It means you have questions. It means your are with God. That's why the bible exists. To answer questions. I agree, it's a boring, poorly text book. You will find a lot of useful things in there, but you really have to look. It's not for the casual theologian.
Or you can use wikipedia :) choice is your best wishes.
PS and if some one says anything like " O ye of little faith, how dare you question God! " ask them if they've read the part where Peter called God a liar to his face.

I became an atheist by questioning myself. The more I did it, the more it made sense that the stories in the bible aren't true.....to me though. They're true to a lot of people, I just think that they're too unreal to be true. I think it's best that you make your own chopice wether you want to strongly believe in God and the bible or not. Don't listen to other people, don't listen to me except for when I say it's your choice.
I bet a lot of believers will give this answer a thumbs down just because I'm an atheist, oh well, let them.

it is perfectly normal to question your faith :)
don't worry if you have that warm feeling in your hart from reading the bible then you are in the right place, maybe just the wrong church :) your soul might be trying to tell you that you need a different place of worship.
If you are in a baptist church right now maybe try a Pentecostal church, here Go to the Assembly of God church, they will love you there :)
Have fun, and i hope you find what you are looking for!

It's okay to question things, but you really need to stay involved on a bible be;ieving, preaching church. Get involved and stay involved in a bible study. And above all keep asking questions of your sunday school teacher and of your pastor.

I am not Christian yet when i read any holy book i feel warm and good ... i love teachings from any prophet/philosopher regardless of the faith ... as long as it promotes good and love
but you should always question things ... dont accept anything blindly .. but dont expect every religion to be perfect either
you have to logically decide in the end ... does it make sense for me and me alone
dont be put off by others ... but do listen to them and make an informed choice on what they say by your own study on their words xx

One should never blindly accept what they are told. Imagine this: there are 50 million religions in this world? ok just a guess but that shows that the odds of you being in the correct religion (or no religion, don't want to hurt my atheist friends feelings!) are slim! So why not study as many as you can starting from the popular ones and see which you think brings you closer to conviction.
