This is supposed to be a place where i can ask questions and people give answers, right? Okay so i know that i'm new at this but does anyone else feel like people should only answer questions if they really care. So i posted a question about my little brother and i was crying wheni wrote it and i wasnt paying attention to spelling or grammer and some women had the nerve to tell me that from my grammer i was immature. I am wrong to want to vent about this? Is she wrong for thinking she knows me? Honetly i just feel like if you want to answer someones question you should really care about the question and not judge them unless that what they ask you to do!

To obtain the blessings the Lord has for you? Are you working toward getting them, or do you simply expect Him to give them to you if you only ask?

Is it like the Roman gods religion, as one set of people might have a statue of one god in their town and focus on that one god, and have certain rituals and beliefs.

While in the opposite side of the Roman empire another village would worship another god and call other gods more often and focus on different rituals.

I saw an answer here by J.P., whom I respect a great deal, explaining by analogy why we do not have free will. Basically… if you exactly recreate the DNA, and the experiences, the human will react in exactly the same way. Since actions can be predicted, this means we have no free will. Consciousness is mechanistic and predictable.

But this seems to be a straw man analogy to get to the desired conclusion. For example, if you get into your time machine and go back in time to observe yourself, you will find that you will do everything the same, since everything is exactly the same. It is a self-evident tautology, and does not rule in or rule out free will.

The premise is that consciousness can be created by computational power. Ray Kurzweil predicts this in his book, The Age of Spiritual Machines based on, “prophesy”. Professor John Searle at UC Berkeley says this is absurd, for “computers just shuffle symbols”.

Do you think you have free will?
How can this be tested?

like in Mel Gibsons case, I like to see if that belief will have any merit at a rehab facility, any alcoholic or adiiction specialist will tell you that if anything alcohol clouds judgement and confuses the emotions, like when people have one night stands with people they don't even like

The liberals and the minorities are always looking for racism ,, so they can say see,,whitey is still an oppressive devil,,like Al sharpton as if moinorities where any be, Cosmo Kramer is not a racist either

I have noticed that whenever someone asks a question here about Jehovah's Witnesses, a few people answer that the asker should do research on our "Founder", Charles Russell.

Russell was simply a Bible Student (never even heard the name Jehovah's Witness because we weren't called that until after he died) who was just STARTING OUT as a Bible student when he met a group of other sincere Bible students and they would meet to discuss what they were learning (from a KING JAMES VERSION of the bible - he NEVER SAW a New World Translation because it came out after his death). He published the Watchtower because he had the funds to do so and simply published what they were learning at the outset of their bible study. Some of it has, indeed, been found inaccurate but at least the Watchtower Society admits its wrongs and makes corrections asap.

He died and his followers came to be called "Russellites" (still a few left in Eastern USA). Jehovah's Witnesses are something else

Okay, so I was at Target looking at shirts in the mens section, and apparently a shirt got knocked off the rack and fell onto the floor.
I really dont think it was my fault, but the woman who worked at Target was standing right there, saw what happened, and gave me a dirty look and silence....so after a few awkward seconds I said...."I just wanted to see what it looked like when I got home"..... she did not even crack a smile, she just picked up the shirt and walked away with it, like I had done something really bad. I left without purchasing anything because she made me feel so bad. For all I know the shirt on the other side of the rack may have not been hung up correctly by some other shopper,
and I somehow ended up getting the brunt of the employee's bad side for my trouble. Some people just have no sense of humor, am I wrong? Or is it just me?

I am 5'8 and weigh 180 pounds. I am looking to purchase a meditation cushion that will support my weight and elevate my lower-end above the floor. Right now I am sitting on a couple cotton pillows that are too weak and it feels like I'm sitting on the floor which isn't good for my spine. I don't want anymore homemade substitutes. What is a good brand and type to get?

atheist proclaim that there's no God - so why God has been mentioned thrughtout the centuries ,so who invented the story about God? - why is it that we have God in our minds.

as you can see many people have invented theories for example we all know darwing invented the evolution theory. and I can write more examples - but we cannot denied that God is part of us. Why are we here talking about God everyday? have you asked yourself that question?

just because of the fact God is in our minds and the knowledge of him as a superior being, take us to an understanding of his existance.

well I know he's Real

I study the scriptures every night. Sometimes I see myself falling into a rut and reading more than studying the scriptures. Sometimes I really study a verse or a paragraph or chapter very intensely. Other times I read through a whole story or section so I can get a general feel of it, instead of getting bogged down in the details. What about you? How do you keep the scriptures fresh?
