I've heard this story about The Wizard of Oz munchkin one too many times now. The munchkin got drunk, showed up late on the set, didn't get the job, and vowed for revenge and did that on the set.

I know in the remastered version, it's a bird, of course. But I've never seen the original and apparently the scene is in there. Anyone have a clip or something? -curiousness-

Currently the government endorses a general type of Christianity. This is like a teacher giving an athlete favortism in a class when the other students don't get any. The president speaks about his relationship with God in public speeches. God is on the money (put there by Lincoln). God is in the pledge (put there by Ford in 1953) There are religious overtones to much of the legislation taking place, such as stem cell research, abortion, gay marriage, and it obviously pervades into many areas. Would you be happy if the favortism stopped and everyone was equal, or are you the athlete? Can't you pass the class on your own?

My boyfriends mom called him last night to tell him that their oven (which they bought a couple months ago) quit working and the company is not bale to send a repairman until after Thanksgiving. She told him that we will have to go to her house (which is only about 5 miles away) to pick up the food and cook it in my oven and bring it back to her house for Thanksgiving dinner (my house is too small to host Thanksgiving for 9 people). I have two kids (one is 18mo) so that would mean leaving the kids in the car while we load up the food at their house, trying to unload kids and food at my house, then loading it back in my car along with the three pies I made and unloading everything and kids at their house. Just seems like a lot of work. Would it be to much to ask that one of his parents or siblings bring the food to my house and hang out while I cook it and help bring it back? Thanks in advance.

I read the Da Vinci Code last year and it really opened my eyes. I never liked Christianity before (no offence) but it made me dislike it even more when I read about all the things they have covered up.

My question is: Do you believe Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene and what are your views on Christianity?

Thanks

What is the decisive factor in determining why one person believes the Gospel unto salvation and another person, hearing the same Gospel, does not believe?

Is the difference in the person (he is not as smart or as spiritual)?
Or is the difference in God (God has not changed his heart to believe)?

Why do some believe while others do not?

(Please don't just say "free will". This does not answer the question. There must be a difference that causes one person to exercise his free will to believe while another exercises his free will not to believe.)

After I read the following discussion on terrorism – http://www.geocities.com/ulafrique/on_terrorism.html - I felt obligated to share the article with you. Ronald Reagan once said that, “one man’s freedom fighter is another man’s terrorist.”

In the 1770s, North Americans resisting British impositions (acts that eventually laid the foundation for “We the people …”) were called terrorists and insurgents by the British. Over the years, several others have been called terrorists and insurgents for simply resisting entities seeking to dictate and/or plunder from the nationals.

Oh, before you start talking about Muslims and Islam, let me set the record straight: I am a Christian and grew up, as a child, in a nation where Christianity and Islam are major religions. All the Muslims in my town lived on my side of the town and some are next-door neighbors. I know that Muslims are somewhat a very communal people, keep mostly to themselves ...

This is an actual question, but, I found that a certain song by Lady Isadora seems to hit it on the head rather well for me:

“Why do you call yourself a Witch?
Why do you dress yourself in black?
Why don’t you use some other word
And get the devil off your back?”
I call myself a Witch because
A Witch is what I am
And like a Jew in Nazi Germany
I don’t define my name
To suit the Master Plan
The Propaganda Man
Never again! Never again!

“Why do you call yourself a Witch?
You know we just don’t understand
People will think you’re sinister
You know they’ll say your soul is damned!”
I call myself a Witch because
I don’t believe the lie
That the Creator is a macho man
Who wants to tell me what to do
Until I die
For pie in the sky
That’s such a lie! That’s such a lie!

I don’t believe in Satan
He’s a poor excuse for Pan
I’m a child of Holy Mother Earth
And I’m gonna stand up to
The Propaganda Man
In every way I can

“Why do you call yourself a Witch?
Such a-

What if all thestories were just metaphors to explain existance in that day and age? What if religion was as it is now a political tool to shift the gears of society. What if "God" was simply a term to explain the universe as a whole living entity for it basically is in the sense that everything in the universe is both dependent and independent of the rest of existance.

I know the story. I've read the Bible from Genesis to Revelations countless times. I've also read the Kuran and the Kabbalah. I'm merely stating what if it was all metaphor and that people are just killing or fighting each other over trivial details.

As if you have been fighting and fighting for Someone for so long and then they just knock you down? And you don't see a reason to get back up. Because life is empty without them. I used to be so religious but now I don't understand God. I don't see it anymore. Before a star symbolized the Heavens, a tree symbolized life. But now...a star is just a star. And a tree is but a tree. And I feel empty and alone. I've tried to rekindle my faith, but I can't. And yet, I despite the emptiness. but How do I beleive in something I don't see?
